hehe i was gonna keep the link to myself and use the planes on there for "name this.." threads. But urchin found the link and posted it on the O Club.... DOH! :D
by the way if you like that page - i used to have a book called "Last Talons of the Eagle", went into some of those planes in a lot of detail. Not sure if you can still buy it, its a shame i lost the book while moving house!
If i remember rightly it said the F-86 Sabre was based on the ME. P1101 here (http://www.luft46.com/mess/mep1101.html)

also many other post war jets were copied from German WWII designs.
