You've probably seen this B-24 before, either in person or a pic, but it's still cool nose art.

She usually shows up in Madison, WI every couple of years...  Nice pic for sure

Nice picture. The most colorfull B-24s were the formation ships that were used to gather bombers after launch prior to heading out for Germany. Some were even pokie dotted.

That plane graced the back cover of the "Ghosts" calendar a couple years ago.

     Those bombers were used to form up on by the ones going on a mission. They had some with pretty wild color schemes. They were easier to spot and form up on, so that's why they painted them that way.

Thats the Collings foundation 24 I think, and that looks like Boeing field in Seattle too.

     You would be correct on both counts. I took the pic at the MOF last year when "The Dragon and its Tail" and "Nine o' Nine" were here. I work at the museum, so I get to see a lot of cool planes. I flew the "Nine o' Nine" a few years back when the FAA allowed it. It was quite the "woody".

rgr that on the woodness factor!  I flew on the 909 at the MOF last year too.
