Ok, my laser printer is five years old - and its caput. Back five years ago, inkjets were slow and sucked (at least imho). Is this still the case?
Basically, I am looking for a new printer and am completely out of touch with printer technology. I'd like to consider one of those all in ones ... fax, scanner, etc in one - but I suspect those will break and become terribly burdensome.
I enjoy the speed of the laser, but they are kinda pricey.
Anyone have any input on the quality/speed of inkjets, and whether I should opt for an inkjet or laser? THis will be primarily for home use, nothing fancy - just normal home printing. It would be nice to have the ability to network the printer, but its not m andatory.
Thanks for any help.

got a canon bjc 8200 year or so ago and love it. great photos, separate ink carts, fast enough on the text for us. for under 300 you can get a heck of an ink jet nowadays

I got an HP OfficeJet 6110, which has a 3000 page monthly volume...............has worked very nice in my home office, as I hope I never have any harder. I now see the HP D135 for $300.00....which has a 5000 page monthly volume. This might be what you need, as a grilled lawyer usually will print more than an ungrilled lawyer..........I like to lay the lawyer on the grill, and leave him there until I hear, "It's was all my fault." :D

I still have an older HP deskjet 540. I will likely look for another HP that can double as a fax. I like HP as I can refill the ink jets. I am still using the one that came with it and the refills cost dramatically less than a new cartridge.
