I have the creative S/B extigy which is a desktop box. The box connects using USB cable and also has a wallwart adapter to power it.

The reason I like this is because it's pluggable and doesn't require a slot in the PC. Works pretty well for me.

I live in Mountain View/Palo Alto now but I've been a resident of San Jose for the previous 33 years. Incidentally, I stayed at the Los Gatos Lodge back in '69 when my parents first settled here.

I have the Sound Blaster Live Value card. Works great for me. :)

Barfo I am east of you a bit. About 3 hours. Just head up Hy 108 past Sonora to Twain Harte. :) There is about 10 of us in CA that are in our squad.
