Last May, I started on the quest to reverse the onset of type 2 diabetes that I was heading for. I am 5' 7", and I weighed in at the doctor's office at 230 lbs. I had high cholestorol(259) and elevated blood sugar(110).
As of this morning, I have made my goal of 160 lbs. My Cholestorol is down to 220, my blood sugar is down to 99, and I have gone from a pant waist size of 40 to 31. I made my goal by using the point system that Weight Watchers uses, and by excercising for an hour each night. I eat very healthy now, lots of green veggies and whole grains. My only remaining vice are Skittles, just can't give them up completely. :)
Btw, for anyone who saw me at the con last August, I was at around 203lbs then, so I'm much thinner than I was then.
Those of you out there who have struggled with excess weight for your entire life will know how good it feels to not be fat anymore.
Now that I've made it, the real struggle begins for me: the struggle to keep the weight off and not become heavy again. I am Determined to keep the weight off for good. This for me was not a diet, it was a change in lifestyle.
It feels sooooo good to be a skinny guy!!!! :D

lol banana, well done mate! :D
But how are you going to maintain your chubby pornstar alter ego? ;)

Good job!
I know since I changed my diet, our whole family has benefited (as I am the cook and grocer). I think that once you are used to eating in a certain way for long enough time, you will find that you can't go back. As an example, I used to love bacon, now if I try to eat it I feel sick as it is just too fatty.

Salute!
This takin care of yourself can be tough....congrats on your success!!:)

all it takes is a little responsibility for your own actions and...Will... Hey... does this mean you will no longer be a liberal?

Congrats!
Few people have that sort of will power.

Wait...I never got to meet Ron Jeremy at last years Con? Talk about a missed oppportunity for an autograph. Damn, damn, damn.:)
I think I actually do remember you now from the Con, but we never met. If you imagine you are walking into the Con room I suspect that you were sitting near the front on the left side of the room. I remember because I noticed that you had an arm rest made of wood (assuming that was you) that seemed like a damn good idea to me at the time.
Congrats on the weight loss man..awesome job.

No, I'll always probably lean to the left. But just think how much easier it will be to kick my skinny liberal ass! :D

you got the ladies here asking what diet you took hehe.

Kick ass! Nice work banana. However you'll always be that cute lil' chubby guy I slept with at the Con. ;)
I also drop some pounds over the past 6 months. I'm 6'3" and got up to 285. I've now dropped 35lbs and feel SO much better. Hitting the gym and cutting out the late night snacks helped me. I still want to drop another 10-15lbs. Hopefully the willpower will continue.
