There are two war movies that I wonder about:
1) Kelly's Heroes - could a Sherman really take out three (well, actually two) Tigers in the manner that Oddball's tank did?
2) Saving Private Ryan - that P-51 at the end, did anyone else not notice any ordinance on the wing? Also, what the hell did it drop on that tank to blow it up like that?
-
Why pick on these two when there is Pearl Habour sat out there in the open like the world.s biggest turkey? :)
-
Didn't you see that pipe they stuck on the end of the barrel?
-
please focus on the two movies I posted, I fast forwarded through the first two hours of Pearl Harbor to reduce the vomitting on my part :)

1) Yes. Point blank AP shot to the rear. The paint just makes pretty pictures.
2) What if it was the last rocket/bomb on the plane?

Oh I just hit eject.

That would mean that P-51 pilot dropped a bomb or fired a rocket on a moving target and the bomb/rocket all but went down the hatch...in the flyover after the tank was blown up that pony couldn't have been doing less than 300 MPH, very impressive if he did hit it.

Oh Pearl is pure garbage. I do find the P-40 sequence amusing tho.

Actually Tom Hanks put a slug from his .45 through the driver's view port and killed the pilot...thus exploding the tank. The P-51 was there to get all the credit...because no one would believe Tom Hanks was such a good shot.

So, the P51 stealed the kill, and Tom Hanks got the Assist?

Proxy Kill

I'm almost scared to say I like Pearl Harbor.
I guess I just enjoy movies when I watch them, not pick them apart.
Fighting SeaBeas was on again last night.

Perk the .45 !!!
:D
-
Maybe the P-51 was just there as an escort...ever think of that?
What if there was a P-47D who passed over the Tiger going parallell with the river and one of them dropped a 1000 Pounder that hit the Tiger right behind the turret.
The P-47 passed the Tiger while the camera was zooming in on Hanks, and as the camera zoomed back to the Tiger, the bomb hit its mark.

What if the P47 got killed by ack ?
Who would have the proxy kill ?
Hawk or the P-51 ?

Hanks, but then the Tiger driver would've complained about the armour on his tiger not being accurate or that Hanks was prob cheating and in league with the invisible P-47 and how he's going to send in the film.
Also spamming Ch.1 on how Hanks' and co. were lamers for camping the spawn anyhow

The tiger hit a small white rock .

I think a better and much smaller list would be. Movie accuracy. :p
