Why is it when I burn audio CDs I get a system message saying "cant access drive E" when drive E is my CD tray.
Pressing "retry" just repeats the message but pressing "cancel" allows the burn to continue. Then the message pops up again after a few seconds and I have to repeat the proccess, many times.
Yet, in the end, after repeated cancelations, the CD gets burned just fine.
Whassup wiff dat?

Need more info:
which program are you using to burn your cd's
what OS
What brand CD-R drive

NTI CD Maker 2000 Plus

BENQ 52x24x52
Again, it works. Just get annoyed at sys message requiring me to hit cancel repeatedly in order to proceed.

It sounds almost like the cache is emptying and then giving an error, when you hit cancel the cache fills, burns that and then errors again.
I'm not familiar with that drive or the software but I would recommend trying a different burning software to see if the problem is software specific or drive specific.
I would recommend Nero.

Nero

Yeager needs Nero education. What is Nero?
-
One of the best burning programs out there
http://www.nero.com
Use the demo and see if you have the same problem
-
I use NTI CD-Maker 2000 with a Pacific Digital 16x10x40x, never seen that problem before.
Is your CD burner set to the master on the secondary IDE chain?

Yes the CDBurner is on the IDE Secondary Master.
This problem only occurs doing audio copies. Not data copies
===========================================
Okay...just installed "Ahead Nero" and ran a burn without any problems. Seems like a real damned nice program but the $49 for a data key to evolve out of demo mode seems a bit high at the moment. Still, like the wav editor.
I guess I will do a re-install on theNTI CDMaker2000 and see if that clears things up.
In any event thanks for the suggestions.

Let us know if a reinstall of the program removes the problem

Yeager give me your e-mail, I might have something you want
-
I don't think he wants your keygen for Nero.
-
I've gone through most every burning application. Believe it or not I've found Media Plyer 9 to be the best. Very easy to use and not one coaster in 15+ albums burned this last mp3 frenzy I went through. Ms actually has an App that works.

Well judging by your response obviously you know something about it and or used it so who are you to judge?
-
Who said I was judging you?

Am I missing something here, saying he does not want the info that have is A JUDGMENT, use the dictionary more often and keep your comments to your damned self. How the hell do you know if he does or does not want what I had to offer?
-
I don't know if he wants it or not, that's why I said "I don't THINK he wants it" not "He doesn't want it."
Personally I don't care one way or the other. I made that first post as a bit of joke since I know from posts you've made in the past that you most likely were going to give him a Keygen or a code. I didn't really think you'd take it so personally.
Hell how do you think I learned so much about FTP ;)

I did the re-install on the NTI CD Maker 2000 and the problem repeats itself. I guess its not really a problem, just a nuisance.
When I select "make a CD copy" no problem, When I select "make a data CD", no prob. Its just when I select "make a audio CD" that I get the annoying "cant access drive E". Its just too stupid.
