Now that I've been in AH for a while, about 3 months, I have had a chance to do most things in the game. I am in a squad, I've flown the CT and enjoyed it very much, entered snapshots and scenarios and participated in KOTH.
So, my question is, do we need an alteration of AH that allows for the greater immersion of the hardcore sim junky or would the game be better served by adding some more specialized arenas, improving graphix quality and fleshing out the plane set.
I personally think adding a fiter town to a new map with closer air fields and continuing to put tank town on new maps is the way to go. Spend the extra time adding new planes and improved graphix. You could simply add a new line of special events that would keep track of a "career" and automatically give you awards and promotions based on your performance as indicated by CMs and logs and create a forum on the bbs to keep track of it all and have discussions.

Lol, that sounds awful like AHII. But if only it didn't take that long... :(

If it wasn't for all the "hype" around it we would prolly not need it, but now we do.
A new graphics engine is not important to me but i know it will be for some of the customers and for HTC to recruit new customers.

After reading a couple of articles in this months PC Gamer, it appears as though most games in this genre (MMOG) are all moving towards the same design as HTC has proposed with AH TOD - automated ongoing storyline/scenarios. Don't know who started the "craze", but HTC is not the only player in this game (no pun intended).
If HTC doesn't move in this direction, present some eye-candy stuff at the same time, then they will be left behind, and will not survive very long in the MMOG world.

Which edition of PC Gamer?

I just SERIOUSLY hope that the monthly cost of membership doesn't go up. Personally, my other hobbies cost much more, but I wouldn't spend more than I'm already paying to do the virtual flying thing.
End of story.
