This goes out to all the Bishops I have flown with that have given me this simple signal, I would like to thank them for it. A lot of times you are still stuck in a fight and cannot respond, so I just wanted to say thanks for this. As the influx of newbies continues the less you see this given out and I think it is one of the first things you should learn as it goes a long way in terms of helping out a fellow countrymen.

Agreed. It is sometimes hard to give a check 6 to the right guy in a large furball...but it is appreciated and I'm noticing it more now.

that damn CHECK6 voice scares the crap out of me everytime i hear it.
I also thank the pilots who use it. I try to use it as much as possible.

Yes I agree compleatly, I suspect as they become more aware of their suroundings they will try and send theam. I have it maped to my stick which makes it real easy to send one, when I had it on my keyboard I rarely did since I could not get at in time most of the time.

One things about it though, sometimes perepective suffers in the arena and, the check 6 is inadvertently misused.
I got a 6 call last night from a guy who was chasing an nme directly to me. I saw the guy and got the check 6 anyway :) I was a little curious as to why he sent me a check 6 call for a low 12 situation :)

You might look in the "Sounds" Threads on this BBS. There you will find some much better Check Six calls that aren't quiet a scarey. :)
I would also like to thank those who use it. I know it's saved my arse more than once.

Strider, remember, from anything except very close range, it is difficult to tell which way a plane is flying. They probably think they are saving you from a low 6 blind-spot approach. I'd rather have the call for a low 12 bogie than not get one for the low 6 'cause they thought I saw it.
