Title: Question
Post by: Sixpence on May 02, 2003, 03:35:45 PM
I like to fly the corsair, but the ponies are always diving away. Will the F4U-4 catch a pony?

No.  But it will give one a hell of a fight if the pony decides to stop running.

f4u4 is about as fast as pony.... it's heavier than pony so i'd think it could catch it in a dive.

Doesn't a P-51 out accelerate a F4U?  Maybe that's the reason why it can't catch one in a flat out dive.

I think the PP price for the F4U4 is outrageous. I found I could do better in the 1D.

How about drag? I think that Corsair with its radial engine has much bigger drag...

I checked the charts and f4u4 is faster than pony on deck and aalso faster at 14k to 21k.

charts schmarts.  Original E states being equal, the f4u-4 will not catch a pony in a dive.  The difference is not dramatic, however.
