It's about as intriguing as listening to Tormato.

"I could not take it oh so seriously really, when you called and said you'd seen a UFO" or "I will be there said my friend of a distant life, covered in greens of a golden age, set in stone."

Man, people slag that album but would you believe that the first Yes album I ever heard was "Tales from Topographic Oceans" and the very first Yes album I purchased with was Tormato.

I love that album :)  and dont try and slag any Yes music.  I love it all :)

You started at the wrong end of the Yes spectrum if you like those recordings.

My fave is their debut..No pretensions and lots of Bruford in every song...Fragile is great too,I love to listen to that one when I build R/C planes...The Yes Album and Close to The Edge are also excellent prog rock...But that's as far as I'll admit to spending $ on LP's on Yes..:)

Yesshows is great too though only half of it has Bruford.

I was a Yes freak in highschool..Had the robe and Jesus staff etc..That was until I discovered RUSH.

Bruford was da'man as far as good drummers for that group.

too bad what'shisface had such a 'slight' voice or I'd have liked them much better...

As I recall, I discovered Tormato and Permanent Waves at about the same time.  Although Yes and its lineup has been simply spastic over the years I find I still enjoy listening to them as they progress into senility.

The latest Rush album "Vapor Trails" is the best theyve done in many years.

To listen to Yes without Andersons testicular depraved voice just listen to the Yes album "Drama" with Trevor Horn on lead mic (1980).  Really some of the best Yes Music going.  The Yes Keyboardist at that time was from Trevor Horns group "The Buggles" namely Geoff Downes.  He filled the music very nicely with prominant keys.

Yes, and the generation that spoke "Make love, not war" and "If it feels good, DO IT!"  is responsible for everything from Herpes to venerial warts, to uncureable forms of Clamidia, to (possibly) AIDS.  Hows that for a legacy, you baby boomers?

And the generation that said "Make War,not love" is responsible for selling Iraq poison gas,Iran/Contra swap to illegally arm a country,Grenada,Panama...And now "Operation Disarm..oops..I mean Operation Iraqi Freedom".

How's that for a legacy?

PS..I never thought I'd have to post anti war views in a thread about Yes..WTG Ripsnort..Lol

They sure were, but limited to an immoral few...;) Yes, you're right, I should thank them for expanding those diseases. ;)

Hey Sirloin, the enemy of my enemy is my friend today, it may not be tomorrow, because **** happens ;)  Can I use Russia as a long term example? 1941-1945=Friend 1946-1989=Enemy 1989-??=Friend.  Maybe a simple example, an ex-girlfriend that you loathe when you run into her? ;)

I don't think you'll find too many that say we didn't f%#$k up with befriending Saddam or the Afghanistan freedom Fighters during the Soviet Invasion....we agree we did screw up. But you sometimes have to also FIX what you screw up.  Be accountable. We were, and we are. ;)

LOL!  Damn, you're what we call "Steel head" in this region, basically a large sea-going trout similiar to a salmon, but has a tough mouth in which to set the hook! ;)

Fav. band of all time? Thats tough, I love classical (1800's) to Big Band, to old time Rock and Roll, to Blues...(the only music I deplore is Hip Hop/Rap crap and NOT because of ethnicity but because of the messages it sends) but if I had to nail a certain band down, I'd say the Eagles.

Rip, didn't you say just a couple of weeks ago that you used to wear a curly haired Mullet because it got you laid?

Have you ever stated in the past how many women you'd zoomed while you worked as a bartender?

Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I submit that by Ripsnort's own admission he was sexually active with multiple partners before he got married. After marriage, as is typical, sexual activity decreases drastically, but we'll save that for another thread.

The prosecution rests. ;)

Hmm, still fish in Canada? I thought I fished you guys out in the 70's when we used to float plane into the unchartered lakes. ;)

A) That haircut was my girlfriends idea.
B) I was socially responsible, I always used a condom, thus NO KIDS UNTIL AFTER I WAS MARRIED :)

if you're single (thks to the 60's) getting laid today has a WHOLE NEW MEANING! ;)(6 feet under)

Sadly enough morals are even worse today, but yeah the 60s generation (mine) had a whole bunch of great ideas for having fun without regard for the consequences. Not just the sex, but the acceptance of drug use didn't do alot for us as a society.

Oh well, pendilums swing, so maybe our kids will be more sensible than we were.

I love hearing Steve Howe play acoustic guitar.  On electric, well...

Turn of the Century is just lovely, and I spent many an hour mastering Mood for a Day
