OK, I've got my silver B26 as far as I feel like taking it. The lower wings and stabilizer use a different zoom factor than the upper sides, and I can't make the bottom look quite as good as the top, but I'm happy with it.
Other known problem: There's only 1 nacelle side so I couldn't put anti-glare paint on the inside surfaces.

This plane is "Missouri Mule II", which flew with the 598th Bomb Squadron, 397th Bomb Group, based at Dreux, France, in September 1944.
Please let me know what you think.
If anybody's building a Western Europe map, I'd be honored if you put this skin in there. Let me know if you want it.

As far as I can tell they did. Of course, at that time pretty much all US squadrons had a mix of green planes, silver planes, and some that were partly both, so there really weren't standardized squadron total paint schemes. All that was standard were the letter codes and things like the yellow stripe on the tail. I have no idea if this particular plane had been around since June, but I figure it's likely.

It kinda depends on how the light hits it. From some angles, it looks more metalic than from others. I eyedroppered the colors I used for the aluminum from the stock P47D30 and P51D skins, however, so I figure that's the best I can get it :).

Here's my email (jtweller@earthlink.net). Can't do attachments off the profile thing here it seems. Drop me a line and I'll send the skin files to you. Feel free to touch it up if you think it needs work, too. That goes for everybody.
BTW, here's a link (http://people.delphiforums.com/jtweller/BuffTarg.zip) to a simple map with this skin in it, in case you want to try before you buy. It's also got my P51B cum A36A skin on it.
{edit} D'OH!! Why didn't I just upload the friggin' skin files? Well, I have now. Here (http://people.delphiforums.com/jtweller/BHsilverB26.zip) they are.

To use a skin, it seems necessary that it be built into the map itself. When you make a map, you'll have a folder like this:
AH Editor/terrains/yourmap
Create a sub-folder AH Editor/terrains/yourmap/texsrc and put the .bmp files for the skin in the new texsrc sub-folder. Get the skin files from the link in my post above. Then open the map in the editor and select File/Build. This incorporates the skin into the yourmap.res file so it's there when you use that map.
It doesn't appear that you can just reskin planes yourself on existing maps, and have them only visible to you. The only way I know is the above, which makes the skins visible to all players. I guess this is a cheat control, so you can't make the nme planes all day-glo orange or whatever, so you can see them easier.

Hello Bullethead!!
At one point you said that you need encouragement!!!??
I think you're way beyond that, the skin you made is very beautiful and doesn't look like you're a begginer. However all thumbs up!!!
Myself I'm not even a beginner and just opened the editor today... and I'm trouble, cannot figure things out... I think I am the one that would need encouragement LOL :) .
Keep it up!!!
