Heya Gatt!!!
where the hell were you hiding??? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) Was there too - incredible... too bad there were no LW birds up - imagine a mock fight 109 vs Spit... (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
On the second day there were even 22 Spits up if I recall right - the french and dutch spit didn't make it for briefing on the first day... nevertheless it was very impressive!!!
Just came back tonite - downloading 1.4 now and gonna post some pics as soon as I transferred them from my video camera. Hey Santa, buddy, how was Jg54 doing without me??? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Hmm There was no 190 Santa! - And I know because I was there! (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) I guess you are now "Grĝn af misundelse" and thats the whole purpose with this post hehe (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif) It was my first airshow so everything went right into my blood.. the sound the smell etc. I had never omagined that the planes were so close to the audience, or that they flew so low.
I was really impressed by the spits..they made a scramble with a whole group starting together... The sound whow the sound! Also the Spit did som very steep vertical turns over the airfield .. went up and flipped over in a kind of hammerheadturn (just with the broad side of the hammer.. then they dived down like if it would attack field pulled up and made same turn again over and over.. When I saw that I thought that it would never be possible in the current version of AH .. one or two of that kind would drain all speed from plane.
Its quite cheap and easy to visit Duxford from Denmark Santa Aarhus Airport - Stanstead Airport is very cheap (Ryan Air) and Stanstead is only a few miles away from Duxford.

Thanks very much for this post Gatt - I now have new wallpaper :-)
And oh! the sound the sound of massed Merlins <sigh> you just got to be there...
Saw 13 Spits plus Hurricane at Southampton earlier this year. Everyone stood up to watch them - the emotion is so intense you can feel it like a wave lifting you up ...

To much Spitfires and RAF guys around ... (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif). Well, I met Robert Taylor and Paddy Barthropp. Great day!

Was this meeting in England?
I ask this because I was in Normandy this week-end and, while wandering in the bocage I suddenly saw a spitfire right over my head. The strangest thing is that it was quite low. I just wanted to know if I saw a true spitfire or if I should stop eating those red-hat mushrooms I found in the forest.

Oh yeah,
she was a real Spitfire. Probably one OTW to Duxford or Biggin Hill for the September 9-10 or 17 air-shows.
I was wondering ... what could have thought old english countrymen looking those 20 Spitfires circling and buzzing all the country around London: are Jerries inbound again? (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Grindbird, yer right, grĝn af misundelse is a good way of putting it.
Now cheap is relative. To me, cheap is something I can afford on my SU. And that ain't muhco. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
Sounds like it was an awesome airshow.
