Amidst all of the coalition and French/Russian posturing, someone comes up with a decent idea.

I'm betting you won't get many Poles replying in this thread, they don't gloat, it's just not their way. Poland has allways been a class act . I'm not polish, my natural inclination is to brag and eat double cheese burgers, hope I didn't embarrass them too much .
-
Well my mom is Polish :D
-
Well, Suave, I think it might be because there aren't many Poles that regularly post in the O-club on any subject, nevermind a subject directly related to them.

Res non verba .

That's wery better Suave :p

poland's participation in the war was a shock to most people there, much against public opinion. ( something like 70%+ against war)
Recent moves towards reconsiliation between US and "old europe" on the part of polish government are a good sign. I'm proud that they are doing that.
They requested that NATO brigade composed of polish, german and danish troops deals with "polish" sector, germany for now refused. They made it public bit too early and put germans up against the wall. Naivette i'd say, however good intentions are there.

Hmm, not sure about Poland, but Russia and France are solidifying Fd-ski's and others bid that this war was over oil ;) ;)

"The United States will urge the U.N. Security Council this week to lift sanctions on Iraq immediately and phase out the oil-for-food aid program over the next four months, diplomats said. But the proposal already faces opposition from Russia and France."
"The resolution would also create an international advisory board - including U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund - to audit how income from Iraq's oil industry is spent and ensure it is being used to benefit the Iraqi people..."

.
.
"Russia has already circulated its own draft resolution calling for Annan to run the entire oil-for-food program, including taking charge of Iraq's petroleum sales and future development of its oil fields until an internationally recognized Iraqi government comes to power.
Phasing out the oil-for-food program over four months - as the United States now wants - would end U.N. control over Iraq's oil revenues. The United States wants to use that money to pay for Iraq's reconstruction."

Americas relationship with Poland goes back many years.
In the American revolution a Polish army officer designed and built the fortifications at West Point on the Hudson river, thereby protecting a vital American supply line.
-
not only one:)
This officer name was Tadeusz Kościuszko, he lead later insurection against countries who divide poland on parts.
Other famus soldier who fight in this war was Pulawski
But that was very long time ago

Should be an old article, as France agreed about the lift of sanction surprising the US embassador at UN :)
