I'd have more air combat books and scale models scattered around the house, plus a new leather flight jacket I'd only wear once a year, and more memberships to air museums.  So it all evens out at $15 a month for online flight time. :)

Aces High should be a supplement to someones life, not the main theme.

Okay...
Um...
no offense people, but as david said, Aces High is just a video game and should not be taken as seriously (How aces high changed my life? come on!)  I say for those people whose life is based on AH...take a break from it and uninstall it.

Spoken like someone who has not been virtual flying around with the same people for nearly a decade that have become familer long time friends.  Sure the game is just a game, but its also a meeting place.  You may think it is a lame question, but you never know.......
Case in point.

Beautiful post AKAK.

I feel the same about the AH community.  It is nice when you can actually meet someone in your squad or that you fly with alot.  I find however that it is difficult to explain the AH community to other real life friends.  They just don't see how you can develop friendships online I guess.

Yes, it was tragic what he had to go through, and yet touching to learn the unseen role a community like this can play.  (More about ftoes here (http://forums.furballcentral.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=776) {4th post} for any interested).  I dont think Ive ever been able to talk about his story without getting a quiver in my voice, and I didnt even really know him beyond being a quiet regular flier. >S< ftoes

BTW, its Murdr not AKAK, but I guess our 38s do look alike from a distance.

Well AH is where I wanted to be back when I helped play test M&M in the 70s.  Then the only time you saw more than 8 players was at some of the big gaming Cons.  and the first thing you had to do was "calibrate you "stand" so it would turn the right radii"  I still have allmost a hundred 72 scale models, might bring the system to Indy con this year.....

Isn't it Nifty

Look at Al Gore, he could have been president if it hadn't been for on-online sims....ok maybe not.

We all know that this is a video game, but in reality it is your life. If you don't bring your bird back home and land, you die and you don't live to see another day. You wouldn't meet cool and funny people if you didn't play this game. Also, it teaches you real world stuff and it makes you think.

I thought it was just a game, I only play for fun or when my back is really f'ed up or my ear is screaming pain, takes my pain away better than vicodin.
