this is from my brother, a USF C130 pilot.
Thanks for the note. It's always great to hear from home. Especially when
it's from family. I sure do miss you all and can't wait to get back to the
good ole USA. It's hot here. I mean Africa hot, or should I say Arabia
hot. Actually, I'm in the UAE (United Arab Emirates) at Minhad Air Base
which is near Dubai. It's a step up from where we were. We actually have a
real dining facility that serves real food. We had grilled streaks last
night. Not quite as good as home but still a big improvement from what we
were eating. Still living in tents w/ about 9 other guys. Just like a big
camping trip except I would never choose to camp any where near here.
Gotta run for now.
Love ya bro,
Scott

My most heartfelt and sincere thanks and God Speed home!
p.s.
When the coverage of the war was on, and the embedded reporters showed video of 200 foot altitude 300 mile per hour C-130 resupply runs, that was very very impressive, even more than our NOE goon runs in AH!

I'm glad he's safe and sound. I hope he'll be able to rotate back to the States soon. Thank him for his duty to the country and tell him we don't take his service for granted.

THATS EXACTLY WHAT HE DOES! He actuall was the C130 that took the guys who saved Jessica Lynch back from the front, I cant wait to hear his stories in person!:D

That really is cool! Something you usually read about in Tom Clancy books!
-
I wonder if he knows ?
Blackbird is a Nightmare from AW days who has been overseas almost constantly since we started in on Afghanistan. He is an MC130 Nav. and an AF Captain.
-
Never thought about that but I'd bet he does! Can;t be that many C130 flight crew captains around, can there?
Tahgut, you still got that picture he sent a while back with his aircraft and crew?
Hey Boxboy, any way to see if your bro does know one of our AW and AH squaddies nicknamed Blackbird? He's been deployed since fall of '01 for obviosu reasons and we've only heard from him sporadically. Would be really amazing if they knew each other.
Thanks!
:D :D :D :D
