I haven't been flying AH much lately because I am having so much fun flying in RL that suddenly it lost all of its appeal :)
Well, the thing is I finally got my Aerobatics rating (well not a rating really, but the point is they let me fly aerobatics alone) and I'm having a blast :D
Right now I'm cleared to do all the basic maneouvers: Aileron roll, Barrel roll, slow roll, loop, half cuban eight, reverse half cuban eight, spin, inverted flight, ...
Here's a video of my first flight with a passenger. Don't be too harsh on the quality of the maneouvers, I'm learning! :D

Hey Cyrano...congrats. Just be careful up there..;)

wheeeee!
thanks for sharing:D

What GScholz said!!!
Was that a carburated bird? In a couple of your maneuvers it sounded like the engine died.
-
Lord how I hate you now!!!
-
Some people are so unattractive when they gloat. ;)
-
!!!!!!!
I want one!
wtg cyrano!
-
U bastard!
LOL:D

La envidia me consume.

Of course if any of you guys plan on coming to Spain, send an e-mail and I can take you for a ride!
National championships are in October, so I may make the Basic or Sportsman cathegory.
BTW, didn't mean to gloat Sandman, it's just I'm too ecstatic not to tell! :)
Animal, a ver si te vienes y te llevo a dar una vuelta (literalmente) :D

It's actually carburated with duplicated systems for inverted flight. The engine was set to idle because it's a fixed-pitch prop and the plane tends to accelerate very fast when nose-down and over-rev.
We lost one engine to excessive wear due to over-revving it, so the club is very strict about engine operation. The operational procedure states that engine must be throttled back as soon as the nose crosses the line of the horizon when in an aerobatic maneouver.
With time, I'll be able to pilot the advanced aerobat the club has: a Zlin Z-50, really beautiful.

You'll like Il-2 FB then.
Was wondering you opinion on engine heating then. Not sim related, but I remember in school they mentioned pilots 'flying the engine' as much as the aircraft because heating and suddenly cooling it in say aerobatics, or rapid decent really causes some $ overhaul considerations.

Zlin ?
berk ... I still prefer the Cap10 look ;) and they wer build 50 km from my house :) (*)

Well, we actually throttle back when we are 500 ft AGL and let the engine cool down a bit before starting the aerobatics.
Before and after every maneouver, we check CHT, Oil Pressure, Fuel Flow, alternator, and Oil temp.
If you don't wait too long between maneouvers, the cooling is not very important (provided you don't go too harsh on the gas), but when returning to circuit (the box is some 8 miles away from the field) we do a powered descent, keeping RPM between 1500 and 2000 so the engine doesn't cool down too fast.

gniark gniark :)
Peut-être. La première fois j'ai essayé un vol inversé avec l'instructeur j'ai trouvé que je ne m'étais pas attaché assez fortement :D:D:D
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It could be. The first time I tried an inverted flight with the instructor I found out that I hadn't tightened the seat belts enough :D:D:D:D

WTG Daniel,
Aerobatic flying is the most fun you can have with your pants on...
Keep it up buddy! You're off to a great start. Practice practice practice :)
