nice,,i wonder how good that will turn out:)

WoW... Nice graphics!
Whens it due out?
-
They've said November this year. The game is at an advanced stage of development, so maybe they'll hit that date.
The great thing is they've done away with the old 'chess-board' style that was used in the turn-based strategic, zoomed out map. It's now fully scaleable from the battlefield up - yoyu can zoom in and watch your army march across the landscape. You have to think more about terrain in your Empire - like defending mountain passes, watching the sea to prevent amphibious landings etc. You also watch your towns and cities grow and can actually fight in their streets.
You'll be able to play as the Greeks, Romans, Egyptians, Gauls, Britons, Germanic tribes, Carthaginians and loads more including minor nations such as the Spartans.
They'll be 100+ fully 3D units (based on motion capture), from legionnaires to chariots to elephants to gladiators. It's very ambitious.

Sounds great!

IF you look at the pics "The Tourist guy" is in there... Really.....

Attack of the Rome Clones :)

Hmmmm, seems to have Praetorians beat in the graphics dept. Might have to give it a go.

Rome is in no way a threat to America. It's just ridikulux!
-
Where are the naked slave girls?
-
Where is the American army? what a rip-off!

This wouldn't be MMOPG would it?

Think Risk with RTS combat. The first Total War games were a blast and this one is definitely looking good.
ack-ack

Ain't even half-way through 2003 yet, I'm sure there will be just as many impressive titles coming out Q3/Q4 this year that will be bursting with eye candy. Eye candy is only a part of what makes a game great though...
Oh, and I see no blood or gore... that will lower it from great to "okay" in my rating system, unless there are hot naked ladies... then it'll bump it back up to great.

Yep, the Total War games are fabulous!
If you like Tactical combat sprinkled with some strategic thinking, then these are games for you.

The Total War games have been excellent so far.
I didn't buy medieval total war because it was just a clone of Shogun Total War (and sadly, since it was their first installment of the game, they made huge blunders with it, but the game was still fun).
I just hope this new Total War does not have the silly "rules of fighting" (aka, spear beats cavalry, AI never runs out of stamina or gold, fantasy units like battlefield ninja and Kensai, no swordsmen, AI not having the penalty of delayed command (player has to move mouse and scroll but AI could move all 12 units at once..grr), etc etc).

I'm looking forward to how SW:G pans out and that game called S.T.A.L.K.E.R. That looks like an interesting concept.
There will be some gore in RTW. Perhaps there will be a mod that adds more.
BTW I really advise getting hold of the RTW video off fileplanet etc. It is truly awesome. It's like the opening scene from Gladiator crossed with Braveheart - blue faced barbarians versus well-drilled Romans.

Love playing the Total war series...this looks mightly interesting too...
