Korea...late June/early July 1950.
Any map would do, cause it's the planeset I'm curious about... I got into doing a little history on the early parts of the war (well, the late parts, too) and I was surprised to discover that it was really more like WWII part 2.
F-51D's (377 lost)
F4U-4's (541 lost)
B-26's (redesignated A-26's)
Sub Something for the AT-6 (which there were a LOT of in theater)
Sub the P-38 in for the TwinMustang
Sub the ME262 for the P-80 (286 lost)
Sub the ME262 for the F-86 (208 lost)
Sub ME262 for Gloster Meteor (35 lost)
Sub something (Tempest?) for Sea Fury
TBM (9 lost)
Seafire
Axis
129 Yak9P's and U's
289 LA7s (sub for the 289 La-9's N. Korea got)
Sub something for 39 Tu-2 bombers
Sub 25 IL-2's for IL-10's
If you want jets on both sides, move it to November, 1950 - after the Mig15 was in theater...use ME262 on both sides.
Either way, heavily perk Jets, or make them available only from backmost bases...
Turns out, the gruntwork was done by F4U's, Mustangs, Seafires, and Skyraiders...the studmuffinot and Sabre only got the spotlight... :)

we've did a similar setup, a 1945/46 what if russia vs usa/england fighting over japan.
except only the axis got the 262, while the allies got the free perkies, including the spit14, as well as the pony-d.
it was an interesting setup where we got to see how them perkies really performed. or at least those who chose to push them as far as they could did.
i'd sub the fw190d9 for the sea fury, tho'
or lose the 262 and give the axis the d9's.

Some guys didnt like the "sub" thing last time we did it. It seemed ok to me though. I believe the A-26 Havoc was changed to the B-26 while the B-26 Marauder was phased out.

Nevermind, thats what you just said:rolleyes:

Except this is an historical setup...and it's worth it to me to try as hard as possible to keep subs to a minimum. :)
Now, that being said...
I'd sub the ME262 for *all* the jets, because the emphasis in this scenario is on the gruntwork of the prop planes. When you're looking at it that way, to my mind it doesn't matter if the jet you're representing is a slow-a55 F-80 Shooting Star armed with 6 .50's and a maximum speed of 580 MPH, or a an F-84E armed with 6 .50's and a maximum speed of 620 MPH, or an F-86A armed with 6 .50's and a top speed of 685 MPH or a MiG 15 with 2 23mm cannon and one 37MM cannon and a top speed of 668 MPH...
I think the difference to a P..ahem...I mean..F-51 or YAK-9 jock is going to be minimal...*all* the jets will be *WAY* faster, but if the jets stay up in their upper ranges of speed, the prop-jocks will be *way* more maneuverable...and it'll be a wash, tactics-wise.
A smart jet pilot won't slow down and try to turn with the props.
A smart prop pilot will use his maneuverability to foil the jet pilot's guns solution.
However, stupid jet pilots are easy marks... (I've completely emptied the guns in a Boston into an ME262 who was dumb enough to go for TnB vs. BnZ in the TA. Thats not hard if you're patient... *smile*)

ZZZzzzz
wrong game - you mean Target Korea (http://www.gamezone.com/gamesell/screens/s18186_2.htm)

Be careful what you ask for - you might get it. ;)
Eagler, get a grip, the world does not revolve around the ME-109F-4
It revolves around the ME-109G-6 :D

Target Korea any good?

BZZT!
Try again!
"Gameplay currently consists of aerial combat between the MiG-15bis and F-86F-30 Sabre jets , the preeminent airplanes flown during the war. More aircraft and more extensive gameplay will be available once the game is released."
The emphasis is on the PROPS in Korea...not on the Jets in a non-existent game... If I wanted that, I'd go for LOMAC... :)
:P
