Your connection wouldnt be affected at all. As long as no one is using the 2nd computer while you are playing that is...

Regards.

My son and I share a cable modem and we both play AH with no degradation.  The only time There is any loss of performance is if he is uploading to someone.

I share a DSL connect to 6 different computers in the house.

Doesn't really seam to effect AH at all if my wifes surfing & my daughter is downloading music.

My only rule is the room is miine for Squad Ops, mostly so I have peace & quiet but also just in case.

I share my connection through a hub...main thing is, make sure your upload doesn't get cut off.... usally downstream is fine .... upstream will be what kills ya ... in my experiance....

You'll likely have no problems unless your running kazza or something.

Yep Me too, I have my wifes computer as the Net server, and the only problem I've had is when she shuts off her comp my pings are 85 to 90 even acrros the net hub.

I share a Dialup in my home, and can get myself and my brother in the game no probs. As long as nobody tries loading doing anything else like IM, Email, or anything else - it works fine.

I use a dedicated LRP (leaf.sourceforge.net) Linux Firewall.

I Don't know exactly why,  but I have found using the firewall to actually improve my throughput over Dialing up from XP, Win98, Etc.  Anyone have similar experiences with their dialups in Windows? Could this be a POS Winmodem issue?

I am running a Linksys router with two computers on a cable modem.  One system is Win XP Pro the other is Win ME.  I play the AH game on the XP computer.

I notice no degradation at all while playing and using the other computer to surf or check email.

I do notice a HUGE difference though if you are using something like Kazza, WINMX, etc or downloading large files.  I can see this when looking at the ping rate when getting into the game or via the netstatus thing on the clipboard.

Regards!

PS.....See Skuzzys post on tips in tech support I believe....you should not use those programs...it screws your connection some how.....WAY above my computer expertise here.
