Title: Damage Info
Post by: DVDA on May 18, 2003, 12:42:19 AM
I was currently looking through all the AH websites to see if i could find a detailed explaination of the damages in Aces High

when pressing Ctrl D and view the damage my plane has taken i have come to realize i dont know how it effects my flying one way or the other. Like for example just the other day i took a shot to my radiator on my P-51 i looked at all my gauages nothing seemed wrong so i thought nothing of it and went on with my flying, when all of sudden boom engine dies...i guess from over heating.

I know that wounded pilot means your more pron to blackouts and death, and left gear means you have no left landing gear...

but what do all the others like Engine Oil, Elevator etc mean is there any site out there that explains them all?

Check this out...It's pretty simple.

[EDIT]When you are smoking, it is a good idea to land :) [/EDIT]

You need to keep an eye on your gauges. Sometimes the effect is not instant, but there is an effect...

If your radiator get's hit, your coolant runs out in about 1 or 2 minutes. After that your engine quickly heats up. Once it hits 150C, it seizes.

If your oil get's hit, your oil press begins to drop. It varies by aircraft how long it takes to empty. Once your oil pressure reaches 0, your engine will stop.

If your fuel tank(s) get hit, the fuel will begin draining out. You can cycle through your fuel tanks (Shift F) to see the hit tank draining rapidly. Once all your fuel is gone, your engine will stop. ;)

There is no hydraulic system modeled, which is too bad.

There is no oxygen system modeled, which is also too bad.
