Was great as usual. Amazing how many great old planes those guys put in the air. The last remaining A6M5 in flyable condition was one of my favorites.
This picture was the topper though. I'm standing there daydreaming about this beautiful F4u when the pilot / owner drives up in his "land vehicle"... some people just have it all, bastages!

Cool! I'm going Sunday, I look forward to it.

Went both days, was awesome.
I saw that Cobra as well as I was taking pics of a plane or two left of that Corsair. They had a car show on the far side of field just past the concession stands.
Ran out of room on my memory cards mid day Sun. Ran over to Costco to get another card (should of gotten two) to get more pics.

I used to live right by Chino (my Granddad lived right in Chino). My friends and I were WWII a/c buffs, and spent many a Saturday hanging out at Planes of Fame. Back then, their collection of restored birds was not as big, but the bone-yard out back made up for it. They even had the shell of an old Bristol Blenheim sitting there, and an (as yet) unrestored Me262, the two-place night-fighter version. Inside, they had an old bomber-gunner training device, the WWII equivalent of video game. You looked through a periscope-like binocular eye piece, and used motorcycle grips to move the cross hairs around as an old 8-mm film of fighter planes played. The last time I was there was in 1979, for their big annual airshow (used to be called the "Gathering of Eagles" airshow...don't know if they still use that name today). Paid 50 cents to walk through a B-17 they had on static display. Tripping down memory lane now, eh boys?

We had our own little airshow right here in Colorado Springs this weekend. I spent Sat and Sun afternoons (after the flying was over) helping kids and parents up on the wing of the ol' T-6 to get a close up look at the cockpit and take some pictures.
