Anyone know, played, or currently play a realistic quality flight sim that features the A-10 Thunderbolt II?
I saw the LOMAC thread and that looked pretty good. I'm going to try it, but does anyone recommend any others?
The main component here is realism. EYe candy is secondary.
Thanks in advance.

A-10 Cuba is one of the better A-10 sims made. Its way old technology though. Not quite the "eye candy" that Thunderbolt II was... but much better in every other area.
Spectrum Holobyte was supposed to be doing an A-10 plugin for Falcon 3.0 way back, but that never materialized. Too bad.
Maybe someone will do one for Falcon 4.0 (heard there are some mods for it now, but can't imagine they are overly accurate).
BTW... I've been hearing "LOMAC" quite a bit lately. This game has been in its current state for well over a year now. I wouldn't do any waiting based on that title.

Jane's USAF has some good A-10 sorties.

if you want realism and complexity,go with A10 Cuba. Graphics aren't bad either, it just doesn't have textures. I especially liked the atmosphere, when you are getting ready to take off at night, and your flight and other aircraft (even B52s) are taxiing for takeoff.

Wow, I'll date myself here....my first Voodoo card came with A10 cuba packaged inside with it...and it was a real blast too. Hmm, was it a voodoo....does Orchid Righteous 3d sound right? Something like that. Had to run a bypass cable et all.

Along with A10s...are there any sims that model the Sr71?
-
Nothing that really models the Sr71 well. There was a jane's release that did a plethora of fighters, but it was nothing aproaching accurate nor, what I consider to be, fun.
Maybe in the world of Microsoft Flight Simulator, there is something out there that might be close. Don't know how it would handle the blackness of the stratosphere though.

X-plane models spaceflight. I'm pretty sure you can download a time-limited demo, and then download SR-71 from a site like http://www.flightsim.com

You can fly the A10 in Falcon4, you can even download Cockpits for it. But like it was said avove, the main *target* for this sim is still the F16-C

X-Plane comes with a pretty darn good SR-71 already, no need to download it as an add-on.
