I had looked threw the CAP forms before and found some good info. but It looked like the CAP was a squad only event so i quit looking. I didnt know if i had to register or be in a squad or if i could walkon. i just did a search of the word WALKON in the cap form and got 7 hit out of 1701 post.
and walkons are wellcome :) cool
There needs to be a easyer way for new players to get info on special events.

Flyboy, the current Friday SquadOp details are here (http://events.simladder.com/tod_tour.php?tour_id=34) and the Sunday SquadOp details are currently here (http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=87245) until we can get them put onto the website.
Exile's simladder site is due to be taken down shortly, so we are in the process of moving everything to an alternative site until the new HTC server is ready. I will keep everyone posted of when each of these moves will happen, but eventually information about all of our events will be all in one place on the new server. :)

thanks flossy i saw that posting but this is not what i ment
im talking a bout a map and a detailed instructions for each side (maybe it should be posted on 2 locked forums for each side with his own objectives)?
allso information on how the scoring works for a player\squad basis and for each country (how you decide who wins?)
i hope im not too much of a trouble, im just new and i flew Alot of events in WB and they used to have most of this..

Detailed orders are written up by the Admin CM of whichever SquadOp you are referring too - Daddog for the current Friday SquadOp, or Grayarea for the upcoming Sunday SquadOp - and sent to each Side CO about a week before each frame. The Side COs then plan who will do what and send out their orders to each Squad CO to send on to their members. Any maps would be included in them. It has to be done by email, as closed forums would be too much work for Skuzzy. Closed forums need to have individual names added for access, and with the constant side changing between different SOs, Skuzzy would be continually having to add and delete whole squads of players' names. Plus there would probably have to be two lots of closed forums, one for Friday and one for Sunday. allso information on how the scoring works for a player\squad basis and for each country (how you decide who wins?)
This information is usually given in the writeup by the Admin CM, so would be part of the sites I pointed to earlier.i hope im not too much of a trouble, im just new and i flew Alot of events in WB and they used to have most of this..
Not at all. I hope once we get our new Events Server, information like this will be more accessible. I hope you enjoy our events as much as you obviously did the WB ones. I came from AW myself, so am not familiar with them. ;)

thanks for the quick reply

about the forums
what we used to have in WB is you just have a password for each forum and each side CO is responsible to give it to the squads (you change the password every event)
it is very very usefull because then the entire side can "join minds" and help with the planning
i think the forum system is the same as we use here so it shouldnt be a problem
just a suggestion since it workes very well there:)

These forums used to work like that, but using passwords was not considered very secure as they could be passed on! With the current forums, the only way we can have private forums is for each persons name to be individually added - it's more secure, but also much more work. It's unfortunate, but that's the way it is, I'm afraid. :)
-
you want to tell me you cant trust AH players? :(
-
It's not as simple as that anyway now. These forums don't support password protection. However, when passwords were used for scenario forums, there was always the worry that spying could/did go on. This was before my time in the CM team, so I have no idea whether it went on or not. The forums changed about a week before I joined the team. :)
-
this sucks  :(
i did noticed the AH comunity is more "dweebish" (no offence)
but i hoped that the part of the comunity that flies in those types of scenarios will be as good as the WBs part
i mean the whole idea behind those things is to have fun much more fun
i must say im pretty shocked :(
-
I am not saying any spying does/did go on - just that it would have been possible; however, the point is moot. The fact is, to have private forums means having each person added manually by Skuzzy. This is one thing for Scenarios where players stay with one side for the duration, but out of the question for other events where sides are constantly changing. It is just not practical. ;)
-
It's really not all that different from WB Flyboy. I came from WB's where I mainly just participated in events there and then I moved to AH with a little hesitation about the quality of the events here. I soon found out that my hesitation was unwarranted as the events here in AH are in most cases every bit as good and some even better than those in WB's imo.
There are some minor differences but basically the Squad Ops events here are very much like the S3 series in WB's while the snapshots here are comparable to Scenario Lites.
As far as dweebish behaviour goes, well there is no real safe haven from that now is there? ;) But just like WB's, bad behaviour is much more rare in events than in the main arena etc.
Just keep in mind that there are bound to be a few bad apples in the crowd and as the population increases it is only normal to see more bad apples from time to time. From what I have saw though, it has not been a major problem in events.
I hope you will give the AH events a fair shake before judging them to harshly. It is good to see a fine squad like 101 Israel coming to AH. Our old WB squad (416) always enjoyed flying events with Viff and the rest of 101 Israel gang.
