Processor Price Drop Effective May 26, 2003!
Dear William,
AMD announces a price move for select AMD processor
products effective May 26, 2003.
Call your AMD authorized distributor for more details.
A list of AMD authorized distributors can be found here.
You can only hope that they are including the high end CPU's. Hell it might be enough that I get to build two systems. One AMD and one Intel.

Thanks Box. I got that email from AMD yesterday on the expected change but they did not list anything other than what I got.

Usually that's the price for bulk buyers.
Otherwise, just cruise Pricewatch.Com and see what vendors have the lowest prices
-
If you buy from someone like Mwave or Newegg you will get very close to that price right now (pre price drop today). I would wait a few days to see what the actual price ends up at for the larger vendors like them.
I paid $275 for a Barton Core XP3000+ the other day from Newegg. So it should drop a bit more unless they were already rock bottom on the price. If they were then it will allow them a little more margin on those items than they were getting.

Intel also but prices but only on the Celeron line of CPU's. No cuts were done to the P4 line at all but a 2.4Ghz Celeron is now $84.
