all of my housemates are insane. their choice of best episode sucks. wondering if im in the majority or the minority on this one so give me your vote. im talking real star trek by the way. james t with the torn uniform and the blood banging green martian chicks two at a time. no kindler gentler klingon new star trek nonsense.
-
The one where Scotty got everyone drunk .
-
That one where the doc refused to get on the transporter, so spock and kirk put some knock-out drugs in his milk. Then, they transported down to the planet surface to save some farmers on planet flarg 12 from a bunch of klingons who wanted to run them off their land so they could have the mineral rights. Once on the surface, the doc woke up and was real mad, but he got even more mad when howling mad scotty started acting all crazy and then doc called him a "foo". I don't remember the rest, but it was a helluva story!

I like the one where kirk did the blue chick. The one with the red chick was OK... but it's a distant third to the blue chick and the green chick.
MiniD
-
City on the Edge of Forever, the one where Kirk does the social worker.
-
My fave is the episode where Spocks father is dying and needs a transfusion...Kirk is injured and Spock refuses to give up command to save his father as it is the "Logical" thing to do...Some really good zingers between Spock,Dad,Mom,Kirk and Dr Mcoy who finally gets in the last word ...:D
-
I like the one where the evil ball of light instigates endless fighting and then feeds off the negative energy.
Sometimes, on the internet, I try to be that evil ball of light.

i remember that one. she had the "im so innocent i must be defiled" vibe like no other girl on tv except maybe daisy duke. thats a sound vote in my book for best episode. :)

Good grief. You plebs actually think ST: TOS is better than ST: DS9?
 :p
Best ever episode was the one with Dax's lesbian kiss :D
Second best ever episode was the one where the DS9 crew went back in time to DS whatever-it-was when the Enterprise was visiting.......trouble with tribbles? And only cos we got to see Dax in a seriously short mini.

I liked that episode too.... but for erm different reasons. :) I thought it was good the way they merged the old episode into the new one....

I like only the original series.
My favourite ST moment was the one in which Spock was alone on a shuttlecraft and needed to be rescued by the Enterprise. But the rescue would jeopardise the Enterprise and delay its mission, so Spock entered into a discourse, explaining why abandoning him to his fate was the "logical" thing to do. Dr. McCoy was on the bridge at the time, along with Kirk, Sulu etc. After Spock had said his piece, McCoy bellowed "Shuddup, Spock! We're rescuing you!". To which Spock replied "Why thank you, Captain McCoy!" - ROFL! for me, the funniest ever ST moment.

Best episode was the one where that mad computer had to be stopped from doing serious harm.
Second best episode was the one where that other mad computer had to be stopped from doing serious harm.
Third best episode was the one where that other, other mad computer had to be stopped from doing serious harm.

"Shore Leave" Where what ever you thought about became a reality. It ended up being a huge amusement park. The fight between Kirk and Finnigan was cool.
"A Piece Of The Action" Where the planet they were checking up on grew into 1920s gangsters. Spock had some funny stuff in there.
"Doomsday Machine" Enterprise and Constellation had to destroy a planet killer.
-
"Balance of Terror" to this day is still my favorite.
The cat and mouse fight between the Enterprise and the Romulan flagship.
-
TOS was great because of the arguments between spock and mccoy (mccoy always my favourite character) and scotty and kirk.

That was Joan Collins, by the way. As in "Dynasty" Joan Collins, the superstar actress that nobody's heard from recently.

Absolutely the ultimate. The pace was good, the strategies used by the captains were good, the camerawork, lighting, special effects...all working together and producing a great visual story.
Even better was the film "The Enemy Below" with Robert Mitchum, which was the basis for "A Balance of Terror".
-
TNG and DS9 sucked so bad Hoover tried license them to be motors in there vacuums!
God how I hate all the new startrek crap........ that French captain is such a puss!!!! Kirk would kick his bellybutton then sleep with his women, well if he had a women, and wasn't well so lame!!!
"Balance of Terror" Was by far the best one of the first series!
And all you TNG and DS9 dorks, don't bother to flame me, I will still be right, and you will just be proving you're dorks!!:D

The Yangs and the Coms... Where Kirk saves the day by reciting the US Constitution from memory.

My 2nd favorite episode. What really made that story work was Commodor Decker. We had action, we had strategy, we had space ships duking it out, we had dramatic tension and we had a captain who may or may not be insane, creating fantastic character conflicts. Decker and the Doomsday Machine was Ahab and The White Whale.
Funny how we get so wrapped up in the action of "what" that we just accept Kirk's explanation of the "why". How did he know it was activated by an ancient civilization that had gone to war and ended up being consumed by its own Weapon of Mass Destruction? Makes an interesting parallel to The Cold War and the Bomb.
-
the blue chick was hands down the best one Kirk ever did...
besides, wasn't she the one that was supposed to be trained from birth in the ways of pleasure or something...
hell.. can't go too wrong there
oh yeah, and the captain of the Enterprise is not a woman !!!

Eeg Pla Nista!
Anybody else notice that it seemed a lot like "Planet of the Apes", in that we have spacemen coming to a planet like Earth, where "our side" has been destroyed and replaced by apes/Communists?
-
he he .. right on GTO

I almost forgot about the WW2 airplane that kept strafing the young lieutenant! That scene was snatched straight from my subconscious. Too bad the machines didn't snatch any of my other fantasies . . . with Yeoman Rand. :D

Wlf, the Enterprise C's captain was a woman. Supposedly was the Enterprise that saved a klingon outpost from a romulan attack. The "C" didnt survive the battle. In TNG they popped Lt Yar into that Enterprise (lame).
Aside from that, I rather liked the concept of the original Enterprise (where the guy from Quantum Leap was capt). For once there was no goody-goody federation morals (maybe thats why I kinda liked sisko in DS9.. he poisons a maqui planet's atmosphere to lure a maqui out of hiding and punches Q's lights out in another episode :D ).
-
Yeah but all that crap with the Pa wraiths and toejam was a load of tripe. The religion thing was what spoiled DS9. Anything's better than Voyager though.

The DS9 remake of the Tribbles Episode is still among my favorites.
Many favorites in Voyager (really enjoy The Dr) and TNG ("The First Duty", etc)
-
OIO I know.. but I think you may have missed my point.
there was no star trek past the original...
no fluffy 'new' generation, no ds9 soap opera,
no woman captain and certainly no Scott Bayowhatever.. cripes.
The first, the original, the corney, but the best.
no PC.. that's the best part of the original.
I'm sick to death of PC this and PC that.
-
Right on man! You tell em!
-
come on you're all forgeting The Trouble with Tribbles. that was a great one.

well, TOS was PC for its times. It did bring up lots of issues to the screen though, like the first interracial kiss on TV and black/white issues (wasnt there an episode of aliens that had faces half black half white?).
If you think about it, even the modern Star Treks are not entirely PC. You ever seen a fat starfleet officer? No, they dont fit in the cameras. or a puerto rican crewman? No, they dont wanna work in the future either ( ;) :D :D ok ok getting non-PC, sue me! haha).
Matter of fact, go to a star trek event. Here in orlando we had a star trek exposition in the Orlando Science center.. they had their staff in starfleet uniforms, which was really cool. Until the upper management came out of the closets with beer bellys stretching that pajama uniform. That was gross. LOL
-
My favorite is "Arena" where Kirk has to fight that green lizard thing. He makes a cannon out of bamboo and it shoots diamonds into the lizard.
-
NEEERRRRDDSSSS!!

Funny funny stuff in a sad way.
-
You ever seen a fat starfleet officer?
hell no.. or fat women..
haven't you ever heard of the MFTR ?
it's for women .. a requirement about the body being in such a tight outfit!
now don't go getting all bent out of shape!
it's just an observation ;)

Amen, Brother SubaroS. That's my all time favorite as well. Romulan captain's line at the end was classic (guy played Spock's father, and a Klingon in another episode, I believe):
"I regret we met this way. We are much alike. Under other circumstances, I might have called you 'friend.'"
-
there was an episode in TNG where everybody goes kinda wild (living their own fantasies), and Data gets to screw Tasha, the blond security chick who dies later in the show.
-
Nucking ferds.
-
"mudd's women" and/or the one with Harry Mudd and the fembots...

agreed...im suprised that wasnt the first one mentioned
-
The best? Had to be on Saturday Night Live when Kirk addressed a Trekkie convention and told them all to get a life.
-
The one where Kirk and Spock have to fight in the arena and they play the cool bellybutton music. Also any of the episodes where there are multiple Kirks/Spocks, evil versions and good versions.
-
Yeah, the new series do not have the charm the old did just in the realm of Away Teams...
Spock, McCoy, Ensign FunkedUp...Transporter room 2. And you knew who wouldn't be beaming back :) Ah, those red jersey'd bastids....
-
you mean this guy LePaul :D

lol...gotta love the way the crew members that the ship needs most go into the most danger...isnt it traditional that those sort stay on the ship in there lay-z-boys and laugh at the o-club???
-
My favorite episode was the one where Scotty says, "Capt'n shes guon ta bloe up any minute now" What was the name of that episode? ... help me out here guys. :D
-
i think he sez that in every epsiode
-
where Spock sings "Maiden Wine" is #2
for #1. Is there any doubt?
drama is a four letter word
GORN
-
GORN! Thats the name of the lizard thing he shot with diamonds, I couldn't remember the name of the species.
-
evil spock universe is the greatest of all of them i think. spock is good example of how a fumanchu can make anyone look dangerous.
-
The one where McCoy loses his stash that he hid in the engineering room so that the great guzoo wouldn't find it again . And he walks into the officers' mess where Chekov and Scotty are tyring to play 3d chess but they are giggling too much .
-
THE MENAGARIE !!!!!!!!!
The one with the dude stuck in the rolling slot machine with the red and green light being his only way of comunicating, and those dudes with the bulbous heads. Oh and the one chick on the planet was a hotty
