Title: 10 comandments
Post by: type_char on May 28, 2003, 02:09:57 PM
I am the LORD; thou shalt not have any other Gods
Thou shalt not make any image of me, bow to it or worship it
Thou shalt not take thy LORD's name in vain.
Keep (and remember!) the day of Sabbath
Honor thy father and mother
Thou shalt not murder
Thou shalt not commit adultery
Thou shalt no steal
Thou shalt not bear false witness
Thou shalt not covet thy fellow-man's wife, house, or anything that is his.

And  Jesus said, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"
And low, a rock burst forth from the crowd, and stucketh the young temptress.

And the Lord said, "MOM, GO HOME!!"

Religious quotes are fun...

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness. YIELD NOT YOUR MEMBERS AS INSTRUMENTS OF UNRIGHTEOUSNESS...(Romans 6:12-16).

"Give unto Ceasar what is Caesar's, and give uto God's what is God's" - Jesus

Heres my favorite hym,

Michael row your boat ashore
Hallelujah.
Michael row your boat ashore
Hallelujah.

Michael's boat is a music boat
Hallelujah.
Michael's boat is a music boat
Hallelujah.

Sister help to trim the sail
Hallelujah.
Sister help to trim the sail
Hallelujah.

Jordan's river is deep and wide
Hallelujah.
Meet my mother on the other side
Hallelujah.

Jordan's river is chilly and cold
Hallelujah.
Kills a body but not the soul
Hallelujah.

Galatians 3:23-29

23: Now before faith came, we were confined under the law, kept under restraint until faith should be revealed.
24: So that the law was our custodian until Christ came, that we might be justified by faith.
25: But now that faith has come, we are no longer under a custodian;
26: for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith.
27: For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
28: There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29: And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise.

'The book of Armaments, Chapter two, verses nine to twenty one:

And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then thou shalt count to three, no more, no less.  Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shalt be three."

"Four thou shalt not count, neither count thou two, Excepting that thou then proceed to three.  Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch toward thou foe, who being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

Words are to theologians what grease is to a pig: it makes them both very slippery.

This one always confused me and got me kicked out of Sunday school.

If god created man in his own likeness, then doesn't this preclude procreating of subsequent humans, as well as painting carving photographing etc?

Then if god knows everything thats gonna happen - why put a rule which pretty much everyone (including the odd ugly.com member) is gonna break?

And does this mean that all those movies where god is played by that old cigar-smoking fart should have been picketed by the christians? If so why didn't they?

2) "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image,"

taken from another version of the 10 commandments, written slightly differently. This means that GOD is supreme in meaning and being and is exclusive to which itself.

John 4:24   God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth.

Conclusion, dont take another god and make his image onto GOD. The implication is that there is only one GOD and that would be the GOD from the ten commandments of the bible.

                                  JULES
                       There's a passage I got memorized,
                       seems appropriate for this
                       situation: Ezekiel 25:17. "The path
of the righteous man is beset on
all sides by the inequities of the
selfish and the tyranny of evil
men.  Blessed is he who, in the
name of charity and good will,
                       shepherds the weak through the
valley of darkness, for he is truly
his brother's keeper and the finder
of lost children.  And I will
strike down upon thee with great
                       vengeance and furious anger those
who attempt to poison and destroy
my brothers.  And you will know my
name is the Lord when I lay my
                       vengeance upon you."

The two men EMPTY their guns at the same time on the sitting
        Brett.

BTW I looked up this passage in the Bible..with no luck. There's no such thing as Ezikiel 25.17, 25.15 is the last one....

It's a mix of different passages that sound biblical, but it isn't.  Agreed.

Uh... Why count to three after you pull the pin? The fuse won't start burning until the spoon is released, thus allowing the spring loaded trigger to snap into the fuse (kind of like a mousetrap.) In fact if you want you can pull the pin and put it back in, no harm, no foul, but if you release the spoon you better throw that puppy pronto, depending on the type of grenade.

midnight Target: "One day the older daughter said to the younger, 'Our father is old, and there is no man around here to lie with us, as is the custom all over the earth. Let us get our father to drink wine and then lie with him and preserve our family line through our father.'" - Genesis 19:31-38 (NIV)

In those times - shortly after creation - human genotype had not yet accumulated harmfull recessive mutations. The inbreeding, or incest as it is called in humans, was not a problem then.

The Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch did not have a spoon - that is a more modern invention.

And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

Revelation - Chapter 6:8

And I looketh unto the toilet bowl, and behold there sat the spawn of Satan.

And I said unto the evilness, may the power of christ compell you, MAY THE POWER OF CHRIST COMPELL YOU.

And the spawn did revile me, for it rank of evil. And I did dispair, for the spawn would not flusheth. And upon the spawn I did see corn - whenst there had been no corn consumed. And still the spawn floateth.
