Can you shoot that .wav to me? Sounds like it could be a candidtate for my new Yak9U engine start up sound! Right now I'm using the short version of "O Fortuna" from "Excalibur".
nascargofaster@yahoo.com if you don't mind, sir!
-
No problem - Ill send it when I get home tonight. :D
Nothing makes you want to virtually kill people quite as badly as that song. ;)
-
I don't remember the title. The voice is entrancing and the refrain of the song is:
"Base under attack."
Hooligan

The Ketchup Song.

Cool! I'll look for it.
Some songs I use are:
"Somewhere Beyond The Sea" by Bobby Darrin as my FM2 engine start-up :p
"Anchors Aweigh" by the Marine Corps Band as my F6F engine start up :p
"O Fortuna" long version for P-51D engine start up (since it takes so long to get to combat altitude in that thing)
"O Fortuna" short version for Yak9U
"Flight of the Valkyrie" by the Berlin Orchestra for 109G10 ;)
"Panzerlied" as my Panzer engine start up
"A is for Airborne" (not the real title) as my C-47 engine start up
A couple that I recently downloaded and haven't figured out where to use are "Baby Did A Bad, Bad Thing" by Chris Isaak and Enigma/Enya's "Return To Innocence".

"One Vision" from the Iron Eagle Soundtrack :D
When bombing... Wagner's "Flight of the Valkyrie"

interesting...
first, I don't have headphones, I've got a little 5.1 system (yeah, center, 2 fronts, 2 rears and the subwoofer) for my computer gaming experience.
Second... I don't want music getting in the way of Mitsu's sound pack and banana's lovely voice coming over VOX! ;)
That said... Rock and Roll by Led Zeppelin would be my song for going into a furball. :) Or twist and shout by the beatles if I'm in a Zeke. ;)
-
I don't listen to music, I concentrate....
Perhaps, I should take that advise of the national anthem, I love the soviet national anthem.. Wooh.. So exilerating for flying. Flight of the bumble bee too :D J/K

Hey Tronski - those guys openned for us one night a couple of years ago. I'd never heard of them before, but it seemed like every single Australian foreign exchange student and ex-patriot and you name it, in the entire city, was there that night. That stands out in my mind as being one of the funner shows we've done.

Sorry, but i'm the little brother of a Satriani-fan. My god those air-guitar-scenes affect me more today than catching my parents in the act. Deep trauma. I decidedly think my big brothers LP-collection (not CD) includes some of your other band-names.... Thats why i have to massage your plane with minengeschoss...
-
Some pretty cool stuff mentioned already. Every time one of these threads comes up I end up digging out the dusty CD's from my collection. :)
Nailbomb get a mention from me, pretty much the whole of 'Point Blank' gets me in the mood. Awsome album.
Oh ya, if you're sitting at a computer all day and have realplayer installed check out R1's rock show. This is the only time in the UK we get to listen to proper rock/metal music for 2 hours straight unless you count the weird s*** John Peel plays. An interesting mixture usually.

50+ furball?
Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away.... :) The Beatles
-
Long time since I last flew AH, but when I wanted to fly with music I did it with techno-dance music, more than rock'n roll (even while Queen has a lots of songs very suitable for an agressive style of lying&fighting, I'd rather have Sash!'s "Ecuador" in my headphones ;)).
I recall one time when I was alone at treetop level in a Fw190A5 with no less than six bandits in my tail...I recall it because StSanta had joined me in my cockpit, and I went out of that situation forcing three augers and three kills...
with "I got the power" from SNAP at full volume in my ears :D
-
A combination of tracks from
1. Eat Static - Implant
2. thekevorkiansolution - all symbols are bastards
3. Scraping Foetus off the Wheel - Hole
4. Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit...
5. NOMEANSNO - 0+2=1

7. Michael Viners Incredible Bongo Band - Bongo Rock!
8. King Crimson - Larks' tongues in Aspic
9. Frank Zappa - Jazz from Hell
10.DOA - Let's Wreck The Party!
This is my Aces High Minidisc (use Minidisc instead of computer sound system. That's why all you dweebs warp so bad, resource hogging mp3 players...)
Man I had no idea there were so many cheesy metal fans in here - some of those boy bands really suck.

Then, brothers, it came. O bliss, bliss and heaven, oh it was gorgeousness and georgeosity made flesh. The trombones crunched redgold under my bed, and behind my gulliver the trumpets three-wise, silver-flamed and there by the door the timps rolling through my guts and out again, crunched like candy thunder. It was like a bird of rarest spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a space ship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures. There were veeks and ptitsas laying on the ground screaming for mercy and I was smecking all over my rot and grinding my boot into their tortured litsos and there were naked devotchkas ripped and creeching against walls and I plunging like a shlaga into them.

Iron maiden: Tailgunner
I really like the part "Nail that Fokker, kill that son" even i fly 190 regularly :)
"Trace your way back 50 years
To the glow of Dresden - blood and tears
In the black above by the cruel searchlight
Men will die and men will fight - yeah!
Who shot who and who fired first?
Dripping death to whet the bloodthirst
No radar lock on - skin and bone
The bomber boys are going home chorus
Climb into the sky never wonder why - tailgunner
You're a tailgunner (repeat)
Nail that Fokker kill that son.
Gonna blow your guts out with my gun
The weather forecasts good for war
Cologne and Frankfurt?Have some more!
Tail end Charlie in the boiling sky
The Enola Gay was my last try
Now that this tailgunner's gone
No more bombers (just one big bomb) chorus"

Lotsa good examples in this thread. Lots. A quick scan through showed me a few hours of good music ideas :)
The three that caught my eye as being "best choices" were:
1) Led Zepplin - Rock and Roll
2) Steppenwolf - Born To Be Wild
3) Hank Williams - I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive
But the one that's missing that seems painfully obvious to me is:
Blue Öyster Cult - Me-262 :)
