I thought you were plum crazy a year ago when I kept saying the $30/mo would keep the idiots away and you said the opposite. I was wrong. Sadly so. It's looking more and more every day like the webboard of the place I'd left behind. ALot of complete tripe and drivel from alot of people who should know better. Seeing how they spouted the same where they used to subscribe.

Westy, I think you've mistaken this place of business for your own private little club.
The idea here (I think) is to get many different people with different ideas involved, having fun, and expressing their opinions.
If you want to keep the 'idiots' out, then you better go lock yourself in a room, cut the phone line, and hide your head under a pillow.

Westy has been around as long as I have and he without a doubt knows the game here! He also know the Sim. There always is a game being played, far beyond being in a Simulated cockpit!
I may not always agree with him, but he is one of the best to fly with and one of the worst to fly against.

I've been having a bit of hard time in trying to handle how the ubb (and at times) the online environment seems to be creaping closer and closer to what AW has had that when I came online and read Razors post to Vati. Well, I more or less reached my limit.
Now after your words, the words of the others there and my fellow MOL I've made a resolution to try and help the situation here by not disappearing from the boards but by helping and posting in a positive way only.

In aw3 i would of gone yes too if i got a kill on him. I loved killing trainers.
His transition to ah has been poor check his stats.
He posts often. His game on the bbs is much better than his game in the ah arenas.
He needs to find out what went wrong and fix it.
He has the potential to be a much better player than he has shown so far.

EYE, you really need to drop this fixation you have with stats as a measure of skill.
Kill/death ratio and the like MAY be a measure of skill in AH, but just as in AW it may also not.
For instance: In AW, Zazen had a k/d ratio approaching 100:1 or thereabouts. One day I talked him into flying some duels in the training arena whereupon he died, literally, within two seconds of our first merge. I have film of this if you're interested.
Also, I prefer to auger to end flights in AW and AH. In Tour 4, I managed 427 kills to 181 deaths. Of those 181 deaths, probably half involved my augering for a replane or diving into a crowd of badguys because my fuel was about to run out. In my mind, death means a quick respawn, and a quick respawn means a faster return to the action. It ALSO means that any stats you use to measure my skill are incompatible with your criteria.
Vulching increases hit percentage and k/d ratio. Would you consider someone with a 10:1 k/d ratio that was entirely the result of vulching to be better than a furballer who manages a 1.5:1 or 2:1 ratio? Why?
It's fine to have your own set of standards for excellence, EYE. But don't go using them to attack the "skill" of others when flying styles differ.

On the topic of why you killed zazen so easily. You do know why you could eh?
Getting 6 kills a mission with two account is easy.
Years ago when i first defected from a land to bz i followed him at every oportunity.
For two months i did this.
Zazen always had streak kills with the same name. You could see it on his score.They always seemed to be newbe names.
He always got those high kills swooping dwn and killing guys too. The guys never moved.

Now zazen was good but how good ill never know?
Fighting you dead+ a t and ber he would be easy meat i would think. When did he fly much other than a a8.
When you factor in the fact he ran 2 accounts and killed one to boost his score sometimes who knows how good he was?

Not very good. He flew a Ki-84 for awhile so he could manuever if needed. You'd think he would have learned basic ACM from that, but alas. He flew for k/d, and any skills beyond the narrow set required to climb to 35k, sit on a perch, and dive on engaged opponents were severely lacking.

Hey westy check last tour stats for me in a zero.
I flew a zero for over half my kills that tour. I was over 3 to 1 in a zero.
If you dig a little deeper and look into my stats. In tour one to eight i got over 2 to 1 in the p38. 3 to 1 in the a5. 2 to 1 in the a8.
Now if you were to fly the best plane you could and i flew the worst in the game for a tour i would still beat you by several points k/d.
Westy if you want come find me in the ta. I spend most of my time there. Why ? Im adding types to my list. Yep i fly the 38 hellkitty la5 anything but the spit. Why because i like learning all the planes.
Westy you seem not to notice the change in my flying since aw. I wont run if you want a fight. Find me in the ta ill give you as many fights as you want. Because it's about respect for people (or lack there of actually) and the reasons behind either. It's not about stats. We could have 100 duels EYE and I could lose every one. But it would not garner you an ounce of respect.
Community involvement, helping folks out and being a team player more often will.

Ice i have a different view on online friendships. To me it seems silly spend alot of time on someone you might not ever meet. Someone who lives literaly thousands of miles away. I always try to treat others right. When have you ever seen a arguement with me in it on ch1?

Is this because i am not in a squad? In my flight sim experence i have flown with 4 squads in 51/2 years I have only spent 2 months of the 10 i have played AH out of squads.
I have a rich full life. I am a very lucky guy. My first child will be born this month. His name is Curtis. I prefer to spend my time with people i can actualy touch. Computer interaction is so steral. Family and friends in real life get my attention not my online buds. I guess i just prioritize my life different than you.

Ive been in Mexico since the 13th of January. The Royal Decameron does have 5 computers here on wireless internet. But ive been in the sun and drinking in Puerto Vallarta.
I do remember the conversation, i sayed $30.00 was far to low a price and it should be about $50.00 a month.
The crowd here is not the same as AW DOS or WBs in the early years. AW DOS was very expensive ,about $12.00 an hour ( kept the kids out. Warbirds in 6 years of flying it, ive only run across 2 idiots, both where banned.
When Pyro decided on flat rate of $30.00 i figured this would open the doors to people who have no intention of joining a growning community. This is to Bad. AH has a lot of nice guys and many show respect for each other. Its the 15% that really spoil this community.
Luckily with Warbird at $24.00 a month now, some of the idiots have moved there, at least that will help spread them out a bit. WBs player dont have much use for these guys either..

I recall that conversation, too. Beta camp 2 toward the end, or maybe closer to halfway through camp 3. You were right, WD. Worse, the UBB sees guys that care nothing about AH.
