after revisiting the websight of the school in America I thought maybe there would be quite a few new players in AH who may not have heard about it.
I believe F4UDOA has flown at this school and as such has had probably the nearest experience to actual combat that is available to us mere civilian computer nerds! :)
So people have you got the cash to fly it ? can you pay for me too????? :D heheh
heres the link :

Okay..I'm in. E-mailing link to wife with big HINT HINT in the subject line.
I can't see where they discuss price though.

They fly T-6 texans, and wander from airport to airport across the USA giving flights. Pricey, but worth it. I flew immelmans, loops, split-s, snap and barrel rolls, and avalanches, in addition to a couple of gun passes against ground targets and a break-turn landing pattern. It took three days to get the grin off my face. The price included a video and digital pictures. I got to wear a cool canvas WW2 Navy pilot's helmet. What more could you ask?

I was there when Vermillion took his WarbirdAdventures flight. The guy was ear to ear grin when he came back to the tarmac. I still have his video. He kept going on and on about how it compared to "Air Warrior" and how great it was and what a real stall felt like and so forth. I've been meaning to get over to Kissimmee and take a flight myself, but I just can't seem to get a free weekend.

Guys.... really... topics like this one.... really make me.... jealous :(
Oh well....

A friend of mine is a CFI who flies out at Williams alot and knows the guys who run the air combat "school" there. I live in Gilbert (about 10 miles from Williams so it's on my "some day" list. There also is another one out here at Deer Valley airport as well.

More power! I really want to do this, can anyone lend me £450 ;)
http://www.vampirepreservation.com/vampirepreservation.htm and click on the "cost share flights" link.

Hey Humble, your my neighbor! Gilbert res. too. I know the sales director for Fighter Combat International. If someone organizes a group, I am sure he would give us a good price. They use Extra 300's, and the hardest thing to get used to is the G's. Lots of people get sick they say.

screw that, I can't even fly a Cessna properly :p
-
But remember, flying a Cessna improperly is a whole lot of fun..
Jumping fences at dawn on a crystal clear morning..
....chasing cows.
NoCal has a few airports for T-6 rides. Shellville in Sonoma the last time I checked has rides for less than 200 bucks.
The Lady had me set up for a flight here http://www.stallion51.com/home.cfm and then the local economy in my trade went the way of the Ford Pinto...
Pricey, but a once in the lifetime experience, with vidio.
Just give me the stick for one barrel roll...
..and they do
Heres hoping for the economy.
Please ??

They came to my town too...AT-6 Texan I believe it was...and something else...cant remember. I just know that I got excited and told wife that was what I was going to give myself for my birthday....
Til I found out it was something in the range of $200-$300 or so for 15 min or something like that...
just knew i was REALLY depressed after knowing it was that pricey........was i close on price? think so...
:( thanks for bringing that up again for me.... REALLY APPRECIATE IT
LOL

Local FBO has an L-39 I've had a chance to drool over.
-
I've done warbirdadventures twice.. Theirs nothing compairable to the ride of T-6. The sound of the radial engine is far better then the sound of a oversize vacume cleaner..
Its just pure joy.. that and the wind blowing though the canopy rocks!!
Its something that no game will ever mimick :D

tracerx....
Val Vista and Warner behind the Fry's.
I always thought an AW or now AH convention out here would of been great idea. Hotels and Golf are cheap and Chapman (was) right here at Falcon Field. I'd be interested if we could get agroup togeather.

Well, the factory making those is just over the hill from where I live.... Sooo, got a lot of traffic generated by those over my house.....

Hmm. Gonna have to raise our prices. We been selling 20 minute AT-6 rides, including acro, noe, jabo/dogfight sim and usually close formation for $75. We're down to just one AT-6 now, so the formation and dogfigting are limited to Texan vs. RV-4 vs. Bonanza gigs.

had another flight today...in the words of my instructor: 200% improvement. yhaaa!!!
over here in Mobile there's a lot of Navy, Coast Guard and Air Force training. Today I had to wait for Coast Guard 2 T34s in formation to taxi.

What happened to the other AT-6? Forgot to map the trim tab to a hat switch and augured it in?

I checked it out was going to take a flight but then they told me there was no vulching and I could not shoot chutes so I passed

It belonged to Whitey Wannamacher (-brkt-), our old CO. His widow allowed us to keep the insurance paid and continue to fly it (our current CO, -knfe- is ex-Air Force and current in it) for a while. Last year she decided to sell it, as well as her interest in the C-45 (it's gone now too).
As for "play for pay" rides, that's now limited to when a few locals want a thrill.

Hey Humble,
Lindsey & Guadalupe, North of the new Recreation Center.
It is a shame that we are loosing Chapman Air Museum. I had wanted to get over to see the Fw-190 restoration they were doing. I agree, an AZ AH Con would be great, as long as it is not in the middle of the Summer. Even then it would be ok, as long as Hblair left his black speedo at home. :D

Heya Hazed,
Yup, it was me. Around $900 bucks and well worth it.
2 practice dogfights and 4 real ones. I will tell you that that I won 2 to 1 because the last fight I had my head in a bag.
The fights are supposed to be an exercise in high and low Yo-yo's that quickly turn into looping fights as you try to cut the angle over the top. We pulled 4.5 Gs on the last fight and in the words of the pilots that fly with you I "spun a gyro".
The most satisfing part of the fight was when I won my last real fight after about 4 straight loops pulling into accelerated stalls on the top of each loop. In the video the other pilot teams instructor who was an ex F15 jock call sign "Rugs" was telling his pilot that he had me right up until the time I shot him and was very surprised to loose.
The worst part of the experiance was the civilian pilot who flew with me call sign "Dooley" who was a complete dick during the entire experiance. Including yelling at me for leaning on him while dogfighting and completely blowing off the post flight breifing. He was about half my size and had some little man desiese going on.
However if you go ask for "Rug" Burns. He is a real fighter jock and a good guy. Without him it would not have been so good.
I can also reccomend that you take some non-drowsy dramamine if you can. I did not and it cost me.
I had a unreal headache for two days after my flight that felt even worse when driving. If someone had ask if I wanted to do it again for free at the time I would have said no way.
If you ask me now I'll say absolutely yes I want to. It is more than you can imagine and then some.

If I am going to spend that kind of money, I'd want something more realistic.
-
Swager,
You should read my previous post in this thread.
Without someone shooting you full of MG fire you could not be more realistic.
I promise you if you go you will be a sweating and shaking like a virgin on prom night when you get out of the airplane.
Oh yeah, throw in a couple of puke stains for good measure.
