Hi there.
Saw you mention in another thread that you had tried Air Combat USA. Just curious how it was, and if there are others out there that tried something similar.
Looks lika a blast, and I'd love to give it a go....wish I lived nearer though, lol.

There are others.  We have Skyfihgters here.  They use T-34 B's with laser firing technology.  Cost is prohibitve IMO.  Around $700 for the whole day!  I think that is two breifs, flights and debriefs!

I tried it a few years ago and had an absolute blast.  There are a number of organizations that offer similar programs, although they seem to use different airplanes (Air Combat uses Saia-Marchetti's and I know of two others that use T-6's and Extra's).

Most of them go "on tour" around the US at different parts of the year, so there ought to be one fairly close to you at some point.  Unfortunately they all cost approximately the same but IMHO it's worth it if you can possibly afford it, especially if you're a die-hard AH/WWII aviation fan.

I flew the basic "package" and also took the full "Advanced Fighter Tactics" course from ACUSA.  The basic flight is a series of 6 head to head dogfights from a neutral starting point.  In the advanded course, they introduce more complex setups and maneuvers than the basic head-to-head fights.  It is a gut wrenching, headspinng, all-out good time.   You're very likely to learn things that you can apply to your online flying.  Highly recommended and worth every penny for the memories that will last a lifetime.
