whoa, I thought DD would have been way too new to play on the 2600, but I was wrong.

Actually, I favor Karateka on the C64. ;)

Close.  Intellivision's Hockey had the best of everything.  Fighting, hockey, and comedy.  I never laughed so hard watching the guys get high-sticked and then fighting.  God that was a great game.

This thread was really intended as a joke.  Fighting games suck.  You all should be ashamed.  Drop and give me 25.

The only games with fighting that I liked:
1.  Some game for the Amiga which had two Conan types swordfighting.  If you did it perfectly, you could cut the head off the opponent, and his head would fall off and bounce and roll, and blood would spray out of the neck of the body.
2.  The versions of EA NHL Hockey where the fights ended with one of the guys laying on the ice, twitching slightly, in a spreading pool of blood.

There was some fighting game for nintendo that was just overhead of block figures.  It was great because fights lasted at most 30 seconds, at which time loser had to chug a beer and get at the end of the challenger line.

All I remember was that the entire game was about fighting. I once had more then half my team in the box. It didn't take anything to start one.

4d boxing!

Funked that must be "Barbarian" or "Barbarian2" - indeed an excellent gory fighting game. I played ad nauseum on the C64. The amiga remakes featured better gfx (of course) but didn't have the "spirit" - btw, wasn't there a Barbarian remake on the common next gen consoles? ;)

Golden Axe.

"Look at that wee dwarf go at them with his big chopper!"

Moonstone was also good. You were a knight and had to do a series of batles to win the game. Very gory.

Was that the one where you and your opponent were on a log bridge doing the karate maneuvers?  My roommate and I used to do that one alot.  It was pretty cool.  Not ground-breaking, but still cool.  And not as cool as Intellivsion Boxing with the cinderblock glove.

Yeah, I think the ref blew the whistle once out of 5 high-sticks and hooks.  We used to do that one on Saturdays before going outside to play football or whatever.  It was kind of fun watching a guy on a break-away, then I'd come up behind him and hook his skate.  "What? No penalty? Open yer eyes, ref!"
