Title: My thoughts for Map rotation
Post by: streetstang on June 06, 2003, 05:26:08 PM
If we are going to stick with this weekly map rotation I was thinking it may be a good idea to modify it just a tad. Rather than having the server automaticly change maps every week, we could still have the oportunity for the map to rotate after a country resets the map but if the map is not reset with in a weeks time then the map would just automaticly rotate as it is doing so now.

Just a thought...

no way...

that would leave us exacly where we were a few weeks ago when we had 90% trinity, and 2.5% for each of the other maps.  Trinity would be the map from saturday thru friday.

Where is the other 7.5% going into???? Lets face it, trinity is a tough map to take guys. I personally love the map. Tactical in ever aspect. And with out team work, yup that right, I said it, team work,,,,, Its a ver hard map to take. Stop whinning about the map and get together. Most of the time I see 150 or so people logged on and you will be hard pressed to find at least 25 that are actually working together. Its not that hard, throw some missions up, get a group moving and take bases. Power in number guys....

you're math clues are the only wise assed crap in here.  Not only that, but your wrong.

2.5x4=10  (what ALF meant although we have 6 maps)
90+10=100

I will restate ALF's point.

1. Trinity and Pizza can easily take over a week to be reset.
2. Uterus can be reset in an hour
3. Baltic and Mindy can be reset in a day.
4. Ndisles can be reset usually in two days.

...So that would give us a day (maybe two depending on map order) on the 256 maps then 6 days on either infinity or pizza.

Which part is confusing you?

Sorry alf I apologise, but we were thinking in two different directions.  Alf makes a good point but I still beleive somthing other than this form of map rotation is in order. Maybe it takes getting used to but I sure have noticed a big difference in peoples attitudes when it comes to taking bases and working together for a reset, esspecially when I hear, "who cares about a reset when the map will just change in a week anyways..."

Ummm...ok

I do think that the reset push is somewhat less now...but not exceedingly so.  We are still getting resets on the smaller maps quite frequently....but I do think that Trinity will go the whole week without being reset many times.

I dont hate trinity...but I dont like playing it 4-5 squad nights in a row, and the way things were...it was the map almost 6 days a week as the other were reset in rapid succession....especially the first few after Trinity where one side had a 2-1 advantage, they would roll over the 'bucket' side in just a few hours.

There were at least 3 occasions that I was there to see trinity reset (usually late in the evening), and had a new map the next day in the morning...and withink 24-26 hours....guess what map we were back to   I fly at least one sorte most days, and I went well over a month without seeing lake uterus or the islands map as we blew by them when I was at work or mowing my lawn or something

The current solution while not perfect is at least fair, workable and gives everyone a chance to play thier favorite maps.

i think new system is best...you can work on your stratergie over a week..
the only other alternative i would say would work is just remove trinity from rotation...nice as it is its just to slow.

My favorite map is SFMA.  It's usually reset in less than a day.  With your modification, if I blinked, I wouldn't see it again for possibly 6-7 weeks.  No way. :)  Besides, I look forward to gaming on SFMA for a week.

nobad... dont roll your eyes at me bubble head....

How did I "get what I want" and how am I whining?   I repeat... I full week on pizza and infinity is bad but not near as bad as 90% of the time..  I find the new setup to be a huge improvement.

Cool! Now all we have to do is take away reset perks for maps and the suicide dweebs won't bother at all. Maybe they're start learning ACM.
