We will never be able to fully appreciate the level of sacrifice made by the men and their families. To plagerize a line fron Churchill...This was our finest hour.<>

veterans of wwII are dying off at a reported rate of 1000 a day. soon there will be only recorded records of their deeds.

When I see a dusty old dude with his plaid pants pulled up to his chest and his Veteran's baseball cap I try to say a few words to them.
I see them in the malls most often. They will chew your ear off if you let them, but its important to let them know that their efforts and sacrafices aren't lost on this generation.

I can't think of anything more sad than to think of these brave men going thru their last months and years thinking that we take for granted what they endured.

When I see them, all I want to do is turn on a tape recorder and let them talk. Soon they will all be gone and with them the last (we hope and pray) of the global conflicts.

SALUTE SIR'S (and mam's)
