My dad finally went and took some pictures of his colt-patterson. Barrel is only 3 inches long, caliber .28. This was the first model colt-patterson made (1837). Serial number is somewhere between 1 and 500. Story is that my grandmothers great-grandfather gave this gun to her, and she gave it to my dad.

This type of pistol has been auctioning at 90 to 120Gs.
Heres a bit of history too- This is the first pistol to have a revolving cylinder. Now thats a bit of history.
