Just wondering, was it really that bad?

I've seen that chart before, but somehow, it never occured to me that according to it, the Bf109E should roll about twice as fast than the SpitI at 200mph!
..
In BoB CT setups, I've encountered numerous SpitIs, and very often went in for a fun low speed all-out stall fights with lot of scissoring... well, I definately don't think the E-4 has that relative edge in AH.. :o

the slow roll rate might have everything to do with the fabric covered ailerons used on early spitfires.Aparently the airflow over the ailerons used to make them bulge and reduce their effectiveness.
Maybe at low speeds this isnt a factor though.
The chart shows roll to 45degrees and if you count the seconds and roll your veiw to 45 degrees it actually closely matches the slow roll on both the spit! and the 109E.
2 seconds to roll from level to a 45 degree bank at @300 mph is a very long time.I'll have to test them but it seems from memory this is how they behave in AH.I'll post anything i find when i test them......
