Im not crazy, in my 8 years working on a golf course i have never seen a brown squirrel with a pure white tail  . This year we have 5 baby squirrels with white tails. They have brown bodies but there tail has no color, just pure white. (albino tail). I tryed to look up this odd creature on the web but came up with nothing. If anyone knows what the name of this type of squirrel is or a website that has any info i would be greatful!
I live in South East Michigan and im confused with this funny looking squirrel.
im going to try to bring my digital camera to work to get a picture before the hawks get them.

How close is the nearest nuke plant?
-
Is the course near a Clorox plant?
-
the profecy is about to be fulfilled:cool:

I've seen lots of all black brown squirrels, but never any with white tails. It must be a genetic anomoly. Their white tails will make them easy prey for hawks, then you won't see them any more. Take a picture.

Hmmm....White-Tailed Squirrels...sounds like a new MA squad name to me. Kill 'em while you got the chance.;)

Maybe it is evolution trying to make them look like golf balls...

Perhaps the squirrels are French...

Try feeding them cheese.

Maybe they are Hybreds..part Squirrel, part Skunk....get closer to them to see if they have a "Funked" smell about them. :p
:D
-
are the related to the blue-hair squirrels abundant in Florida ?
-
Perhaps its just a very large chipmunk?
-
??? we have those around here all the time...there goes one now...

Do take pictures of them..I would like to see what your talking about, I rehabiltate (SP?) animals, and did a squirrel last year..interesting creatures..

There is a colony of solid white squirrels on a local island called Wadamalw Island. The only other instance I've heard of this is in North Carolina. There is a debate on whether they were here or there first, but the origin is unknown.

Hmm.
Do American squirrels change colour in winter like our Russian squirrels?...
They look really funny in autumn and spring, brown-grey :)

nope ours just sleep most of the winter in there nests. Its funny to shake the tree with the squirrel nest in it and watch the squirrel launch from the nest. :D

We have pure black ones in my neck of the woods. Suposedly, the Kent Ohio area is only one of two places in the world that has them (Black Squirrels).

We have pure black squirels in Washington, DC area (Northern VA). Never seem 'em before I moved out here ... about to move away and likely will never see 'em again! :D
