Open house viewing today and tomorrow at the
Museum of Flight at Boeing Field, then she flies
back to DC for her permanent display.

Wow, that was a speedy recovery.  She looks great again!  I'm glad that they decided to restore her to flying condition again.  They did a wonderful (re)-restoration job.  It was truly gut-wrenching to see such a beautiful aircraft almost destroyed by sheer negligence.  I hope they get her to DC safely where many will be able to admire her for years to come.

it looks like a C-46 Commando. Was that the military version?

Hiya Rip.

The pictures are of the Boeing Model 307 Stratoliner...not the Model 377 Stratocruiser, which was the B-29 modified for passenger duty.

Both are beautiful planes.  Just thought I'd mention the pics shown are of the Stratoliner and not the Stratocruiser.:cool:

The interesting this is, IIRC from my AOPA rag, the person who fueled was even on board the last time it flew.
