Ok so you're wounded, bleeding all over the cockpit and blacking out.
In a fighter, you're kinda screwed right there. It's probably pretty hard for a wounded man to give himself first aid while flying a damaged aircraft. However, in a BOMBER what happens? Well IRL 1st the co-pilot takes over and 2nd the radio blokey gets the first aid kit out and gets to work.
How about in AH2 we allow gunners to take over the flying if the pilot gets wounded? And if they do......then the wounded pilot obviously just gets to sit and watch the rest of the flight but also doesn't *die* from his wounds.

Swoop, I'm not sure many pilots want to sit semi-conscious while someone else flies the plane back. Why not just give the pilots two lives? I wonder if that's possible.
I wish that all pilot wounds didn't end in death within a few minutes. Some wounds shoud just cause blackouts, which are certainly dangerous enough.

how about teleportation devices so we can just teleport the wounded pilot back home...:rolleyes:
for some reason i doubt gunners could fly...let alone land...maybe if the co pilot took over flying instead of gunner like you said...

I would like to see better effects when ur wounded. I think in addition to blacking out every minute, how your vision gets all screwed up, or you can't move the plane around as much, depending on where ur hit. If you get a bullet to the left leg, you can't turn the aircraft's rudder left too much because of the left rudder petal and your leg is numb. Or, if you are hit in the arm, the plane cannot dive or roll as much because the arms control the joystick/yoke (depending on what plane it is)

Lol, no thanks. Pilot wounds suck enough as it is, I do NOT want it causing any more havoc than it already does. (Realism arguements needn't apply, because i always get wounded from some D1.3 small caliber spray anyway)

I would like to know the severity of the pilot wound when it happens. It seems that sometimes the wound makes you black out more frequently and for longer durations than others.
It seems that all pilot wounds are to some critical artery that cause you to bleed to death, only that caliber of the round changes the circumstances.
Lastly, pilot wounds seem to kill the pilot a lot faster than they used to. I got wounded the other day and couldn't even make 25 miles at 350MPH (about 4 minutes) before I died.

I think the pilot wounded effect that we have is pretty cool. It adds and extra challenge to land before losing conciousness.

It appears to be variable. I've had wounds that make me passout , on average, every minute or so. I've had `em that make me pass out every 15 seconds.
Imagine if your blood and tissue was splattered in the cockpit. Or the blood was gushing in yer eyes so bad that passing out and reawakening would actually be a preferred option?
As it is .... I'm the invisible man when I sit in the cockpit. :D
