Title: Map Development Arena
Post by: Sixpence on June 17, 2003, 05:24:00 PM
When the new map was launched, many bugs were abundant as expected. What I think might be useful is a map development arena. Map makers would be able to "beta test" their maps. Let's say a map is being developed. After the first 20 fields, it could be loaded into the arena for a week and flown. From there any bugs could be fixed and the map added to (say another 20 fields) and tested again for another week. I know this is not fool proof, but might help to minimize bugs and let the community be rewarded for taking the time to build maps(seeing your map in an arena is always uplifting I would suspect:) ). Just a thought.

Excellent and original (AFAIK).

I really like this idea.  I would love to help test out new maps.

I enjoyed it when Nuttz would set one up in the SEA.  It was Tunisia I believe.

I was serious when I mentioned my feelings about the new map arena.  I sincerely think it is a good idea.

I personally don't like putting new test maps in the SEA.  Events happen in the SEA and that takes away from playing and testing of new maps.

Therefore, I think that a new arena for testing maps is both an excellent and original idea.
