That is way better than: "I ain't no buying some French products" while on the way to buy Forgotten Battles, driving a Michelin equiped SUV.

Jocke appart, how the heck can you set yourself on fire, when you already have a descent life. Strong convictions? Sure but once you are dead, you cannot help the cause anymore, and I don't think shocking people by setting yourself on fire brings more attention than "Oh my god!".

"Judiciary sources said NCRI leader Maryam Rajavi and others still detained could face terrorism charges for allegedly planning attacks in Iran from their suburban Paris headquarters.

Rajavi is the wife of Massoud Rajavi, leading figure in the NCRI military arm the People's Mujahideen, which the European Union  and United States say is a terrorist organization. "

Grunherz[B/], did I understood the article wrong or you didn't bother to read the article and just went into: "bash the French like an idiot" mode?

As twisted and sick as setting yourself on fire and killing yourself is, it sure does bring attention to your cause.

I think she'd gotten more media attention (cameras) by pulling her pants down and crappin on a flag or something - it'd hurt alot less too and she could "protest" more than once..

agree with funkedup here ...

The Radjavi group is nothing else than a bunch of traitors.

They fought during the Iraq-Iran-War side by side with the Saddam-iraqui-arabs against Iran.
They performed many terroristic actions against iranian civilian targets and helped the arabs in their war against Iran and so betrayed Iran.

After the USA has conquered the Iraq they lost their base in Iraq from where they performed their terroristic actions against Iran.

Now France has started actions against their headquarter in France.

So I am not sorry if I see these traitors burning.

Yes, but I studied and now work in Germany.

My family has a long tradition with Germany. Since the 1921 members of my family lived in Germany, studied there and later returned to Iran - some of them bringing german husbands/wifes with them who lived in Iran.

In WW2 my family in Iran hided germans during the british and soviet occupation of Iran until the war ended and they could return to the battered Germany in the 50ties. There were many interesting relationships build during these time - some of them   still active today. :)

Sometimes people feel so strongly that they are willing to sacrifice themselves (and not harm others in the process) in a very symbolic way to draw attention to their cause(s).
Right or wrong, I admire their dedication and convictions.

I'd rather have them set themselves on fire, then blow themselves up.

Who cares what your nationality is - that fact that you so skillfully bypassed the focus of the question, only to ask another, more aggressive "are you a bigot" question immediately qualifies you for membership in the US Democratic Party!  Well done!

Don't forget that their behaviour is closer to a sect than to a political movement.
