 Besides key mapping could you have more flexiblle stick mapping then WB?

 Could I use stick from one controller slot and pedals/trrottle from another one. Or at least have a choice not to use the wheel and twist built into my throttle and use keyboard for power/rudder instead?

Isn't that a fucntion of Windows though?  I know if I tell Win '98 that I don't have a Sidewinder Precision Pro, rather, a 4 button, 2 axis joystick, it works out.  Is that what you mean, or am I completely off base?  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
