When do most of you use it? Taking off to get altitude or just during dogfights? For me sometimes I dont use it at all or I just use it to get altitude.
-
Off the deck until the needle lifts into the middle part of the yellow band, then normal climb until its out of the yellow, then more WEP until it gets to the middle of the yellow again, and so forth until I find an enemy or reach my desired altitude.
-
Depends on the plane, in something with only 5 min of WEP I'll use it for a minute or so after take-off, then only for combat after that. For something with long wep (109, 190) I tend to abuse it a lot more and let it run whenever I'm climbing and turn it off for cruise.

The only time I use it non-combat situations is when I'm taking off a short field with a full load of ordinance and fuel. Rest of the time only in combat.

Ok so it looks like a preference thing so far. Thx for the replies. ;)

Look at the performance curves also. For every plane with WEP, altitude has an effect on how much benefit it gives. At some alts, WEP may only be burning extra fuel.

I did notice that. Forget which plane but fuel was disappearing like I had a hole in the tank.

May be the 109g10, with wep on you can sit there and watch the gas gauge go down :)

true, but that's my favorite plane to punch WEP in, because the plane jolts when you do

10% to attack.
