I think they pooped their pants....
-
Oh its another annual Paris airshow Russian ejection seat sales demonstration - nothing new there... :)
-
Is this a new video or an old one? I see it's taken from Euronews, so relatively new?
Haven't seen such low deployment of canopy before - even though I've seen a number of BASE jumps IRL. They work pretty good, those catapult chair thingies.

Yo man with ugly avatar where u been dude? :D
-
I'm not a pilot, but it's amazing to me that someone thinks that fast. They go from fighting for control, to ejecting so quickly.

Hehe, when K-36 was first shown on an airshow back in 89 IIRC, when 2 MiG-29s collided - people said that one of the pilots was advertising for Winston... When medics came for him he just dumped his chute, took a pack of Winston out of his pocked and lighted a cigarette, waving doctors to go away because he's OK...
:D

This is from a few years back, I forget where it was but it's been around on the net for a while now

And leave a chance that the plane will crash the tribunes full of public?...
-
would that be a "touch and go"?
Seems like those planes always crash...pilot error but still they could atleast give them a bi-plane.
-
oh man he'd a been ok if he would have had about another 5 or 10 feet!
oh well, one less Russian plane we'll have to shoot down :D
glad nobody was hurt!

At that point it looked like it was going straight into the ground, and not into the crowd, or an orphanage, or a basket of cute kittens. :)
Controlling whether or not it went into a crowd would require exactly that... control. Didn't look like they had much of an option there.

Russians have the craziest test procedures for their ejection equipment.
-
Tough Bird it was, seems like very little damage done to airframe.
Seats work very very well, I guess thats way the waited so long, gota have the faith
but have to give them only a touch and no go, they can't log that as a landing
Glad no one was hurt.
They build some great AC over there, hope things go well for them
