Just played it.

It's rough around the edges, and finding a server isn't easy (but I remember when DesertCombat had about 5 servers) - but it is damned good fun!

You are armed with Sword, flintlock and pistol... and err... some leftovers from BF1942. :) But the ship versus ship combat is cool. You use the cursor keys to raise and lower gun elevation while the left and right mouse buttons map to the port and starboard side batteries.

There's also shore batteries, little sloops and runabouts. At 60 MB or so, it's worth a look. :)

DOwnloading this one now, always loved the sailing ships etc

LOL well I guess this only counts as far as appearance goes.
