Title: Check list for taking off in b17??

38 cks.. just to take off,  

these do not include 40+ items to ck just to turn and fly to and back from alt.

needless to say the real b17 losses due to missed items, often just a single missed item was substantial.

bombadiers ck list consisted of 48 items  for a mission.

and we cry about 5.

Lemme see...

1.) Joystick calibrated ?

2.) If current beer < 50% full, another cold one in arm`s reach ?

3.) Smokes still behind keyboard ?

I only count 3 items !

Huh? there's a check list? Other than pushing "E", what else is there?

Maybe that why I get shot down in buffs all the time. Or maybe I'm just a pee-poor shot with the gunns.:D

did I miss anything?1: flaps full up

2: eng on

3:throttle up

4:move joystick for a non auto take off

5: take off at 110 mph

Agree with some sort of secure feeling before take off, but what is there to check?
I usually just press runway and let auto take-off do it's job

I dont like it that  when the wheels are on the ground, I cant shoot the guns
I loose alot  of b17s on landing when some la7   comes in at 500 mph and shoots me!
