I was a snare drummer for drum & bugle corps in the AF..we kicked arse.. had a jazz drumer for instructor..

loved the movie btw but it didn't show the true side
of things.  the work, the need for perfect 90deg bounces, accents, etc..   still, got my blood pumping.

That's the best part about watching any drumline.  At that level, they all sound good, but how uniform is the stick handling, especially for the snares and quads/quints?  :)

Haven't seen the movie, but go watch a real drum corps show.  Amazing stuff live.

I played Bass in the "World's Largest Non- Nuclear Coast Guard Marching Band" (as Sr. Chief King called us) in 1979. We were stationed in Alameda, Ca. We played gigs for both Carter and Reagan. :cool:
