I think some well-heeled soul should sponsor a contest for the spit with the greatest number of p47-d25 kills. :D

Well, I like to see lots of spits in the arena.  They have fabric wings (or something like that) and a brief burst of 6 50s shreds a wing.

So, in the interest of creating more spit targets, this sounds like a good idea! :)

Wings were (are) sheet metal. Only the control surfaces on the Spit are fabric. The rear portion of the Hurri's fuselage is fabric...shred on of them :).
