ya but I'm sure the 3 other R-3350's ;) (ya I know they used ASh-73TK's :D ) would be hard pressed to keep up :)

I've alway wondered what would happen if you put one of those on, say one of the big Tupolev or Sukhoi swept wing interceptors. The contra-rotating props would cancel any torque. Since the Tu-95 could do 580 mph or so, these re-engined birds could probably do 650 or better, with a much better range due to the greater efficiency of turbo-props in that era.
