I am now going to start to play this game, finally, so please be nice to me as i am new to AH.

Hi Zipper
Welcome, if you havn't yet - download the help file in the downloads section, it will answer many of the simple questions every new guy asks and gets watermelon 4, also don't hit Alt-F4 to drop flaps :)

If you havn't played a flight sim before or need some refresher help - there are many vets in the game willing to go to the Training arena to help ya-so dont be afraid to ask...

welcome and best of luck.

You might want to stop in the training arena at first.
there are someguys that are great teachers and will gladdly help you out.   Asking questions like "how do I raise the gear" when in the main arena will be answered,  but most likely with a lot of wisecracks.   Learn the basics,  then hit the MA and enjoy the fun.

Just came back from my first mission. I did try the help arena but could only choose tanks and cars??? What do i do wrong?

So i went in to the main arena and did not understand what i did and who i was suppose to look for. I did attack a green player but i dont know what color i was. Anyhow, really liked it and lookig forward to more.

when you attacked the green player you died right?

thats called killshooter .... any damage you inflict on a friendly actually happens to you.

green is friendly red is enemy.

DL the help file from the main page .... it will explain a ton.

Green is good. Red is bad.

I recommend either the Spit IX, Spit V, FM2, N1K2, or Yak9U as your first plane since these have the friendliest stall characteristics.  If you want to turn on the stall limiter feature (which will negatively impact your turning performance) then try the LA-7, P-51D, F6F, and FW190D.

i believe killshooter is off in the TA... damage lethality is also cranked down (weaker) and you get a whole lot more ammo.

as for only getting vehicles, i can only assume you were at a vehicle base (looks like a tank icon on map). you need to go to a base that looks like an airfield icon.

in the Main Arena, you'll always be green along with your side, bad guys will be red. if you shoot a green guy in MA, you'll take the damage and die from it.

One of the reasons why it's highly recommended that you read and understand the manual before starting the game.  It will at least give you somewhat of a clue as to what you're doing and how to play the game.

i know that i must read the manual and i will do that ASAP LOL. I just took a quick ride before going out. I somewhat understood that the green is friend and i did not try to hit him just follow him. It takes a little to get used to the FM and the views vs. what i am used to.

Welcome Zip! One of the things that confuses new players is they set colors as they want them, but , when asking questions most reply as if everyone is set up on default values.  
  DL the help files. That`s the one most important thing you can do...... beside maybe actualy reading them.:D
  Under no circumstances listen to anything NwBie tells ya, unless it is the fine art of Lawn Darting.:D
